Reviews of Mjóanes accommodation

The host is a very kind and caring person. Our cottage was very nice and clean like the kitchen and shower rooms as well. Our host even bakes fresh bread for every breakfast. We had a very lovely time and felt right at home in this beautiful surrounding!

1. The host lady and gentleman were very nice. The lady showed us around the facilities and baked delicious bread for breakfast in the morning. 2. The bedroom was very clean and nicely decorated. Very homely and cozy. The bathrooms were both very clean and smelled wonderful. Because I used the shower very late, there was no need to wait for others. The kitchen had very full amenities, which we admittedly didn't utilize too much except for the water boiler and plates/bowls. 3. Mjoanes was just 10 10-minute drive from Hengifoss and 15 15-minute drive from Egilsstadir, so we didn't feel too tired going to pick up pizza for dinner. 4. The grounds are very beautiful, and we had a wonderful sunlit evening. There is ample parking for guests. 5. They let you check in until pretty late (10 PM or later even) if necessary.

I think the Wi-Fi wasn't very strong? (which wasn't that big of an issue) and there was a little spider with me in the shower, but that's just a personal ick.

A wonderfully friendly and original version of an Icelandic farm guesthouse.

The host was super nice and friendly, she made a home made bread for breakfast! There are also 2 super friendly dogs and surrounding with beautiful views. Felt like staying in icelandic home for a night.

Very accepting of last minute reservation. The room was very nice with blackout curtains to deal against the midnight sun. Shares with a camping site. In the quiet countryside was nice. They serve a basic but good homemade breakfast.

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and helpful owners. There is everything you need to stay longer.

We loved the whole experience. It was very quaint and a little rustic and we just felt like everything slowed down and we really enjoyed our time there. Elsa, the host was amazing. She works very hard to meet everyone's needs. She baked bread for us in the morning and showed us her art projects and we even bought a sheepskin from her that she tanned. Are grands loved running all over the property and visiting the little baby lambs. It was just a great experience for all.

Our stay at Mjoanes was great. The property is very well manteined and the rooms are very pretty. We also loved that the owner made a delicious bread for breakfast for us, a very appreciated gesture!

We weren't told we had to book the sauna so we couldn't use it when we arrived. But this didn't affect much our perfect stay

Everything. I have stayed at Mjóanes before. Elsa is a great host and she takes the time to show you around and make you feel welcome. She also provides fresh bread every morning and gives you access to jams and spreads and so on. Free coffee machine in the kitchen too. The room is spacious and most comfortable. The location is excellent and the value for money is the best in Iceland (at least from all the guesthouses I have stayed in). What makes it even better is that Elsa keeps numerous pets who are all super friendly. She even asked me if I wanted to feed the lambs in the morning. Such a cute place. Well worth the stay. Very sweet and homey. We essentially had an entire apartment for 6 people, though I gather the rooms are otherwise booked individually with shared kitchen/bathrooms. Home cooked bread with a simple breakfast. Lovely place.

Lovely owner, free coffee (espresso!) and delicious home made bread, cosy, tastefully decorated rooms. Loved it and wish I'd stayed longer than one night.

it was vert nice to find the homemade bread with marmelade in the morning. Unexpected bonus from the owner.

It was very clean, cozy and heartwarming. I had everything I needed, even Netflix on the TV in my room. But mostly I loved the animals. One of the dogs was running part of the way beside me on my evening run and one of cats came through my open window at night to say hello. Experiences like this made my stay very special. I had some really good accomodations on my roadtrip in Iceland, but this one was my favorite! :)
