Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe noise in the evening. Earplugs are provided on your bedside table.
The staff were very helpful and kind. We only stayed one evening as a stop-over for our early morning flights. They kindly offered us breakfast before the breakfast room officially opened.

United StatesIt said that they have parking but there just happens to be 15 public parking spots in front of the hotel that you can pay for 3 hours at a time, so the hotel does not actually have parking.
The family room is perfect for 4 people (although there is no door on the master portion, and the area with the pullout bed does not have black out shades). The breakfast was great, the location wonderful, and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

United StatesSome blackout curtains would've been nice as light leaked in around the shades. The first floor family suite was really noisy due to some very inconsiderate guests above us - not much the hotel can do when guests are slamming doors over and over and running around at midnight, but it was impossible to sleep through that. I would try to avoid the first floor if I returned.
Clean, comfortable for a family of four, really great location. The kitchenette was a nice bonus. I would happily stay here again.

CanadaNeed some more closet space for clothes. A hand moisturizer lotion in the bathroom would have been great. These are minor but everything was terrific.
Excellent location, great staff. Room was ready when we arrived at 1pm. We were able to grab breakfast before the 7AM start as we had an early morning flight.

United KingdomCan’t really think of anything!
Great location for the city centre, and less than 5 minutes walk from Bus Stop #1 for tour buses. The room had excellent facilities including an outdoor terrace, small kitchen area with fridge drawer and electric hob, for cooking, and making hot drinks, and lovely shower room with excellent toiletries. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, bread, pastries, cold meats, cheeses and scrambled eggs and bacon and pancakes, teas, coffee and juices. Very helpful pleasant staff and they are happy for you to get in takeaway food, or cook/prepare food in the kitchen in your room as eating out in Reykjavík is expensive.

CanadaWe forgot my wife passeport in the safe ,we realized it at the other side of Island . We called for them to look in the safe and they said it was not there we drove 6 hours to come back to Reykjavik to go make a passport at the Canadian embassy. But rented the same room ….. and we found our passport. Clearly someone didn’t check properly. That completely changed our vacation for the 60th birthday or my spouse . But if you don’t need to find something you have forgotten. The place is great

IndiaThis is not about the hotel - but for first time travelers to Reykjavik - especially those used to "Indian definition of working hours" - please note that 7pm is 'late' and all shops are closed. If you want to buy something - apart from the round the clock departmental stores - nothing will be available between 7pm and 9am next morning.
First and foremost - extremely courteous staff!! Especially Yakub - if you stay in that hotel, please do chat with him. Excellent rooms - good spacious with all the required amenities. Close to most restaurants. Not too far from the local sightseeing places, Sky Lagoon and domestic airport.

United KingdomNothing really… The breakfast was very good and plentiful, but we did miss having more healthy options like skyr yogurt and fresh machine-made coffee. Also, more effective blackout curtains would have been a bonus, especially for the children.
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable, with a large bathroom and an excellent shower. The hotel has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is also a big plus—within easy walking distance to restaurants and major tourist attractions.
