United KingdomI like to see staff in a hotel and there were none. Also, no breakfast option.
The village is tiny and dominated by a small brewery and a beer spa with bistro. This unmanned hotel has large rooms with comfortable beds, and quite a lot of space for dining, which is not used. That said, the spa and breweries are musts, and if the bistro is not open the Eyra restaurant, two villages towards Akureyri, is exceptional.

United KingdomWhen i checked in there was no one there, they did send me a message about how to get into reception. However they didn't tell me where the rooms were and there were no signs at all on the direction of the rooms. There also wasn't any breakfast in the morning, although there was a note in the room giving the times of breakfast. Not major things, just little niggles.
The room was beautiful and the location is fantastic.

North of Akuryeri and worth the drive around this peninsula off the Ring Road. Great staff, helpful and gracious by phone, seamless access to room, breakfast was self serve and just 'appeared.' Very adequate. If you are in town on Friday or Saturday you can stop in to the Kaldi Brewery very close by to chat with the folks there. Did not go to spa or restaurant nearby. Walked the town in beautiful evening light just admiring this village and the care folks take of everything.

AustraliaThis was a luxurious and spacious hotel room with a great view of the Fjord mountains. A hidden gem which can be quite deceiving from the outside of the property which was set amongst some dockside buildings. Breakfast was a self serve but very adequate. A delightful stay indeed and a great spot if you planned to join a whale watching tour from the town. The nearby Beer Spa and restaurant was closed when we arrived but we drove to a nearby town of Houganes 5 minutes away and enjoyed a great seafood dinner and local beer from the Baccala Bar.
