Best place we stayed in Iceland!

This was hands down the best place we stayed in Iceland. The hostel is in an old farmhouse surrounded by nature, and everything was super clean and organized. It felt just like grandma's house. It had that real hostel vibe where guests actually engaged with each other in the common areas—something you don't find much anymore. We also did a horseback riding tour that far exceeded expectations. Out of all our activities in Iceland—glacier walks, zodiac tours, etc.—this was probably our favorite. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable; my 9-year-old daughter and I learned so much about horses, the farm itself, and Iceland's history and natural environment. We should have booked the 4-hour ride! Thanks for everything!

This place is fantastic. It offers a quintessential Icelandic experience: it's an old farm that's been adapted to accommodate guests, simultaneously retaining nearly a hundred years of history. The surroundings are surreal, with fog or mist, birds screeching and circling around, horses and sheep roaming about and finally - absolute silence. It's so remote and yet close to the ocean, to the glacial rivers, to the mountains. You can watch seals nearby. I can imagine spending more time here in the future; it's a dreamy experience that nearly becomes a time travel. I cannot overstate how magical this place felt. Recommended for all people seeking an authentic experience.

The farm is located in the most beautiful scenery and although one could say it's a bit isolated the location is just perfect for the purpose. The place is charming and genuine with tons of character and atmosphere. The best part however is definately the staff. The ladies of the house were extremely welcoming and lovely. We enjoyed our stay to the full and were so happy to have the chance for a ride with the amazing horses. Loved every bit of it.

Just an extraordinary experience - beautiful house to stay in and full of charm. Being on the farm was blissful with all the animals and so many birds. The setting on the estuary is magical. The horses were calm and unflappable, and the instruction was absolutely great. My son had his first riding experience here and it was the highlight of his holiday. We only stayed for one night but wished it could have been longer

Nice house with a touch of the past at remote location, perfect for people enjoying tranquility. Great vibe and it was nice meeting other guests in the kitchen area. Very clean until some of the guests got dirt on their shoes so bear in mind that the accommodation functions as a hostel and some things depend of other guests too. Driving the pebble road towards the house you can see lots of birds, sheep and finally horses, but the best is that you can see the seals, too!

Old farmhouse very comfortable and cozy. The cleanliness in rooms, toilets and kitchen is very good. The location is remote and not close to a town, which makes it a great opportunity to feel the lowlands of this region. The host is very friendly and encourages interaction between guests through the hostel features (large kitchen and gallery for eating together, library with board games and no WiFi to minimize internet surfing). Highly recommended!

If i had to say anything the shower pressure was very low but didn't detract from enjoying our stay.

Location was simply amazing, very remote with many nesting birds and seals along the river. Hostel building had real character and was very comfy. Would have liked to have stayed longer.

Here you are literally part of a living farm. The entire facility, equipment, building, animals, nature, .. everything is so authentic. If you don't mind living in a Vintage style, you definitely can't miss this place. For us it was a real experience. It was the only place where we woke up and looked out the window at horses. The most beautiful and colorful sunset we met on our trip. And those birds? A complete bird orchestra. There were home-made eggs from the farm in the fridge for a small fee, we really regretted having our own. We definitely recommend!

This is a family owned farm and the hostel itself is more like a cute guest house owned by a family with a fully equipped kitchen and a tremendously cosy conservatory with an awesome view onto the mountains and the tundra around. I had the cordial feeling, the lovely feeling of visiting the farm of my beloved grandparents in the countryside. It is such gorgeously secluded place surrounded by pristine beauty. I will definitely come back :)

    For us, everything was perfect.

This is a place I will remember for the rest of my life. I came back home and cannot stop thinking about it. I’ve already recommended it to many of my friends and am honestly dreaming of going there again for a longer stay. The place is truly special — the location, the proximity to nature, the respect and care for the environment, and the memorial and history of the owners and the site. The hospitality and communication were wonderful; I felt truly welcomed and cared for. If you want to experience the REAL Iceland and spend time far away from crowded tourist spots, in a peaceful and unique house from the 1930s, surrounded by animals and mesmerizing landscapes, this is the place for you. You should keep in mind that there is a gravel road in good condition leading to the location, 20 km long, and you’ll be greeted by horses and even a reindeer! You’ll need to bring everything you need with you, as there are no shops nearby. But this is exactly what makes the place so spectacular. All this information is clearly stated when you read about the place, so there were no surprises for us. I truly hope to visit again someday.

    Nothing, everything was perfect.

Everyone should experience such accommodation in Iceland at least once. The atmosphere on the farm, sheep, dog, cat, horses, we were like in paradise. If you have time, definitely stay here for at least two nights. We spent only one night here and were sorry to leave so quickly. We even bought handmade knitted hats as a memory of this beautiful place. The accommodation has a shared kitchen, shower and toilet, but we didn't mind at all, everyone was very nice. The road was about 20 km on a gravel road following a turn off the main road, but it was easily passable and worth it to come to this beautiful farm.

The gravel road to get there is very bumpy and an adventure on its own with a smaller rental car. But I knew that before and it was well worth it.

It is a beautiful remote place! The horseriding was a lot of fun. You could see seals and also very friendly sheep on the way to Husey. The kitchen was well equipped and it is just a nice place to meet people. Also there are plenty of bathrooms for everyone. We regretted that we only stayed one night and hope to come back one day.

Very clean and cozy. The old farm house is well kept and the staff were very friendly. We arrived in bad weather and weren’t able to do the 2 hour horseback tour with sight seeing. However with fingers crossed for better weather we managed to get rebooked the next morning! The tour was amazing, and both tour guides and Icelandic horses were great!
