An amazing place, an amazing cosy cabin, an amazing, hot tub, very kind hosts. On the top af the hill you have a stunning 360° view. Cabin is super equiped for a relaxing stay full of music (guitar and records) and hot bath under the stars and if you are lucky enough like us, under northern lights!

There was everything one might need - good equipped kitchen, hot tub, grill, great common space. Everything is super cool designed and welcoming. Would definitely come back again!

The tap water has special taste because of the geysir neerby, it was a bit unpleasant.

360 views. The cabin was beautiful and the perfect place to relax and unwind. It has all you need- they have a ‘survival guide’ book for instructions on how to use the hot tub, record player, washing machine, etc. and all you need to know and visit around the area. It’s equipped and has a homey feel. Loved our 3night stay a lot!

Absolutely Nothing!

Stunning views, beautiful location. The record player is a great touch as there is no TV! (It was great not having a TV). Amazing hot tub where you can gaze at the stars and if you are lucky like us, witness the Northern Lights. Simply an incredible find, we were very lucky to get to stay at Hilltop Cabin Hekla for 4 nights!

Hard to say I disliked something. Maybe you should keep in mind that the cabin is in really open area, so using the terrace or facilities like hot tube may be just impossible in case of strong wind. But it’s Iceland, isn’t it? :)

The cabin has been superb. Cosy, romantic and spacious, elegant at the same time. Equipment in the kitchen is modern, high quality and sufficient for a short or long stay. The hosts were amazing, provided a lot of tips and I felt they really took care about our safety in the Icelandic severe weather - constantly informing us about road condition, weather updates. Oh and they gave us early check-in and late check-out on their own initiative. We love and appreciate such extra-ordinary attitude. What a fantastic experience it was. Totally unforgettable, I have no words to describe warmth which I feel when I think about this stay.

It was a shame the oven wasn’t working, we were told but maybe a bit late as we nearly bought oven food ahead of arriving!

Lovely shower and really nice record collection. The hot tub was a really good addition and the beds were really comfy, we particularly loved the bed in the cubby hole.

Hardly anything, if i had to say something, the master bed might be a bit small for two taller people.

This was truly an exceptional place to stay. The cabin is very nice with a great view and well located. The hosts are extremely helpful and added many details to the place to make you feel at home. The kitchen is well stocked and the hot tub is the cherry on top of a great place to stay.

Loved the location. The record player and selection of records was fantastic. The panoramic views from the cabin were the best I have ever had. The bed was comfortable,.shower powerful and hot tub very relaxing.

Our only issue was a small mix-up with the lock box, but our hosts were very responsive and everything worked out a-ok!

The location was easy to find and "centrally" located enough that we were able to take lots of adventures. The house was wonderfully appointed and the views did not disappoint. We used the hot tub frequently (instructions were easy to follow). And, the album collection - a recommendations - were great! (We're currently shopping for more Johann Johannssen albums! It really set the scene!) We saw the northern lights two of the three nights - such a treat!

There was not really a huge thing which we didn’t like, but the shower glass looked a bit used and had some limescale.We had also some problems with the pipe in the sink but we managed to fix it quickly and it was just a coincidence and definitely not hosts’ fault that it was broken.

This is a lovely place located in amazing area. Cabin is surrounded by beautiful mountains, including Hekla volcano. We were really impressed by the view. The house is comfortable and has anything you need for nice stay. But hosts behaviour was really oustanding. They helped us a lot with some difficulties which we had during our stay due to the snowstorm. They were caring, asked a farmer to clean the road for us,called Blue Lagoon when we realized that we can not make it because of the weather and thanks to them we get money refunded. The contact with them was great and we are really thankful for having them at that time!
