    Location is fine

Dirty, broken and smelly shower, only one for 2 floors. The bathroom upstairs was full of dust. Old fry pans, hard to close the window

    Location, comfortable beds, low price

Old house , not renovated, inconvenient shower. The single room was tiny. Missing bedsheets in one of the rooms with no solution proposed by the owner until the next day. One of the rooms had many dead bugs on curtains. In one of the rooms the wall was peeling.

It was a great place to stay. It's advertised as Selfoss, but actually it's closer to the turnoff on 35 to go to Geysir. If you're doing the Golden Circle, this would be an ideal place to stay. There was a little waterfalls (Faxifoss) nearby you could walk to along a horse path.

It was a bit hard to find. I wasn't yet used to the Icelandic style of having very subtle signage. In a town nearby I asked for directions and they said there was no guesthouse by that name (when I pronounced it the Swiss way). Fortunately someone realized I meant "Hay-thee", and pointed me in the right direction. There's a little sign along the road saying "Heidi" but it's about 30 km N of Selfoss, despite the address.

We seemed to be lucky to get an amazing huge room with comfy chairs etc. Kitchen facilities were very good. Lovely setting surrounded by garden/farm and location was great for us.

Difficult to regulate water temperature in shower and toilet sometimes didn't flush properly. Twins beds were a bit narrow for adults.

We enjoyed our time at Heidi Guesthouse – cozy room, great location, and beautiful views.

The only downside was the shower mixer, which was tricky to adjust to the right temperature.

It's a typical old countryside house, although quite rundown. It was cheap.

The mattress is not horizontal and therefore very uncomfortable. The room was vey, very, very small. Change the hand shower. A new one costs kr. 495 at the IKEA. The water at the shower is either very cold or very hot.

The shared living area was nice and the shower & washing machine worked well.

Room #6 (the room with one twin bed) smelled very strongly of urine. Badly enough that my teenager had to share a single bed with me in our room. I messaged the owner about this and was directed to open a window (which did not help). I have never left a bad review on booking before - but when I messaged the owner the next morning to say thank you for letting us stay, but please know that the mattress needs replaced, I received zero response. Had they apologized and thanked me for letting them know, I would leave a nice review. They do not seem to care and the urine smell is certainly not fresh.
