How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Rooms on first and second floors smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. It’s in the carpets, etc.

There breakfast could be improved, it is quite poor compared even lower The quadruple room could have been renovated not only in the bathroom, but also the beds. Really tine space, i would say hostel-like.
The hotel is located in an imposing position dominating Husavik bay with a nice view if you are lucky to have windows in that direction. The structure is quite big for an icelandic standard and it is connected to nearby coffee/museum.

The bathroom, the size of the room and the breakfast - very modest. There wasalso a problem with the sink.
The receptionist was very kind and the location is great, also the view from our room.

The breakfast area should not be located in a room where there are so many books - covered by dust, it makes the room, area smelly and unpleasant to eat. especially when you get the table next to the bookstand. Someone should clean up there a little bit:)

Plumber issue with water flowing back from drainage below the wash basin, breakfast starts a bit late from 0715 with no egg and limited choices of bread

Breakfast was good but not overwhelming.
Very nice location in Húsavik. We enjoyed the view. Beds where good. We recommend taking a boat trip, we saw some whales and a lot of puffins!

Great location! Great owner! We got the sea facing rooms 201 amd 202 great views of the sky and cityscape. The owner is a wonderful guy Erie who is enthralling with his stories and history of the area. Not much in terms of facilities, its an old place but not rundown. Basic facilities but good quality toiletries. Not very modern but goes well with the vibe of the places. Very good place to stay.

A clean, cosy room. We arrived to a note on the reception to welcome us with our room key. A nice touch was a bar of Icelandic chocolate waiting for us in our room. The hotel is perfectly placed next to the harbour and next to the Eurovision cafe/ exhibition and a short walk away from the geothermal pool. We would stay here again.

No employees on site. No info on breakfast on site. Shower didnt work. Plastic over the drain and stains on the sink.

Parking is limited but okay. Pub next door limited food so ate by harbour (drove there)
It had a private bathroom, room was on the ground(2nd floor stairs only) very clean and bed comfortable. Staff was outstanding, friendly informative for dining places told us about Geosea Thermal Pool within walking distance, gave us towels for thermal pool. Beautiful view of town and harbour from hotel. Older hotel but all renovated. Continental breakfast was good met lots of people who were going on whale watching tour. Town very popular for this! Wonderful experience stayed 1 night. Small pub and museum next door walked thru, free when staying at hotel but went down to harbour for supper for fish and chips.
