How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery well designed vacation dome for a very comfortable and unique experience. Be sure to ask for enough firewood to survive through the nights . The staff responded our questions and requests very promptly . Highly recommend!

Verified reviewThe dome is a very fun and unique experience for our first night in Iceland as a family of 4, with 2 young kids. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. It is vey expensive but once a lifetime experience our kids will never forget!

Verified reviewThe Domes are really something special and very spacious and nicely furnished. There were two electrical ovens as it cools down a lot at night. Beside the double bed there is another bed for 2 on top of the bathroom. It was a completely dfferent experience and we liked it a lot.
The location is kind of interesting, driving there from Selfoss leads to a electric power station and not far behind there are the Domes. The view was OK but not as spectular as maybe on the pictures here on bokking.com

Verified reviewFancy dome style studio, beds are very comfy, bathroom is great, the fireplace is such a charm!
There are no hooks/towel racks to hang towels and jackets, which is such a bummer! Very needed… Also, each dome should have two big umbrellas available for use, as it rains so often!

Verified reviewThe concept is brilliant, the apartment is spacious, the view is beautiful, the apartment is fully equipped, a bottle of wine was offered on our arrival. We are mostly surrounded by nature only.
The pillow had yellow stains as someone had already slept on it The floor has suffered from the temperatures changes and needs repairs The big bed is not very confortable The door does not completely close and we would have appreciated some curtains on the entrance door to so we could have more privacy Was a bit tricky to take a proper shower, the water kept changing on cold When we arrived the heating was way too high and we couldn’t manage to lower it We had the dome number 4.

Verified reviewThe tent is fine !
There’s absolutely no privacy, at least in Tent 1. The main door has no curtains, it faces the parking lot, and everyone can see straight in. Plus, the front view is just the main building right in front of you. There are no extra amenities, and the garden and surrounding area are poorly maintained. Basically, it’s just a place to sleep — and that’s it. For €600 a night, there are far better places to stay in Iceland.

Verified reviewThe dome was incredibly comfortable and well appointed. Comfortable beds, heated floors, tea/coffee making supplies, refrigerator, bathroom lotions and soaps. Heavy drapes cover the dome windows at night so the only morning light that comes in is from the front door. Everything we could need for our stay was available!
The shower doors are tricky, and if the shower nozzle is turned toward the doors, water will spray onto the bathroom floors. Normal for this type of shower but worth mentioning.

Verified reviewWonderful tent, but #5 and #6 did show some signs of wear and tear. Also there were plenty of flies which made getting to the tent or sitting out really bothersome. There was no one to help with getting the cooler/ heater on and we had to figure it out ourselves. But overall a great experience.
Flies! The sheer number around the tent.

Verified reviewThis is a beautiful place and it's very clean. It was such a cool experience. The little kitchen was very well appointed and so was the bathroom. We are glad to have done this stay, but there were a few issues that might not make this suitable for everyone.
The maintenance on the domes weren't... great. I understand how much wear and tear the weather puts these structures through. That's why the tape on the compromised plastic window gave us pause. We watched that flapping tape lose ground to the Icelandic wind all night. I do think an actual vinyl repair kit is appropriate when you charge 700usd per night for a tent. The biggest issue that keeps me from giving all the stars was the extreme lack of privacy and the noise infiltration issues. The four domes are so close to each other you can hear everything, and the door is clear glass. We were in #2, and the guy in the cabin right behind us was staring directly into our dome in the morning. Wear modest pajamas! We could also smell other's cigarette smoke, which did not bother us as it may do others.

It wasn’t as secluded as the cover photo let on, But it was still a great location in a beautiful place!

Verified reviewThe novelty of staying in a geodesic dome was the initial draw to the property. Although the domes are in a line, we didn’t feel crowded together. The space was well thought out. The cube in the middle really made each area feel private. Kitchen was well equipped. The deck was spacious, we didn’t use it because too many flying insects (nothing anyone has control over).
The front door is glass and didn’t have a shade to help darken the room (we stayed in mid-June when it never gets dark). The weather was hot and the bed on top of the cube was really hot. There wasn’t a fan to cool down the area. The top had a flap to cover a clear panel at the peak of the dome but there wasn’t no other opening in the dome other than the front door. No screen on the front door so no air circulation. Would have loved a screened window on the door and a fan to get the air moving.

Verified reviewThe idea of glamping in a luxurious, above market priced glamping tent is great, in particular in the splendid Icelandic nature. Staff tried to be accommodating, however, not possible to compensate the shortcomings.
The place is run down, and not maintained. The temperature in the tent was above 45gr when we arrived with no real opportunity to bring it down, without allowing lots of flies to enter the tent. The owner promised a a cooling unit, however, deliberately decided not to deliver on this promise.

Verified reviewUnique experience. Nice touch to include a bottle of wine on arrival
We had a particularly poor weather night - the tent did leak slightly over the main bed and it needs some investment in wood glue to fix floors and wardrobes where wood is coming away.
