Great value for money, very clean and comfortable, great location

Location, waterfall nearby, cozy room. Tasty water (better than other places).

No wifi, but we had the rental car wifi, so all was good.

The staff were very friendly and helpful (holding and opening door! when we had our luggage!). Breakfast was one of our best on our 12 day trip. Food at the restaurant was delicious for dinner as well. We had an amazing view of the falls because we were in the king suite....which was an awesome room. And just as we were having a glass of wine and about to order dinner I looked out the window at the view thinking it couldn't get better, but it did!! About 25-30 Icelandic horses were being driven/herded across the little pedestrian bridge right in front of the hotel! I ran out the front door to get amazing video and experience it close up. We loved this place!

I booked this vacation late and it was high season....so I had limited availability. That forced me to spend WAY more money then I ever would have normally in a couple areas that were popular tourist areas. This King suite was one. But I have to say that when I compare a couple others that I ended up spending EVEN MORE this was the nicest room and view even though it was well out of my normal price range.

Set off early so did not have breakfast which was from 8am. The setting is spectacular scenery and peaceful. There is Wi-Fi at the accommodation which was a bonus. Staff extremely helpful and polite. Food delicious evening meal and not expensive

Underfloor heating made rooms too hot but staff kindly reduced the heat in our room. Would definitely stay here again. Our favourite accommodation along route one

The location of the hotel is right next to waterfall (but no rooms actually face it)

Our rooms were in a separate building, which was in poor conditions. None of the rooms was facing the waterfall. They were both on the ground floor, advertised as “garden view”, but one of them was facing another room and the other one was facing the parking lot (which made it impossible to keep the curtains open). The bathrooms were ridiculously small, and we were given one dirty towel and a damaged one.

Next to the waterfall was great. Quiet. Breakfast was great at the restaurant.

Bathroom was very small and had limited space for toiletries. Room in general small and no room to put things outside of suitcases. Seems we were paying for the location. Room is overpriced.

Very friendly, helpful staff. It was a stone's throw from the falls. Dinner was tasty. I was happy to have a small heater to put in the bathroom for the morning.

Our room was dark and cramped, and in the basement.

We stayed at Hotel Goðafoss mainly for its unbeatable proximity to the waterfall — and that part didn’t disappoint. The reception staff were very kind and solution-oriented, and we appreciated that they accommodated us as a family of four in two separate rooms with minimal hassle. The overall service felt warm and attentive. The rooms are simple and quite hostel-like, which would be fine — if not for the price.

There are no real dining alternatives nearby, so you’re effectively bound to eat at the hotel — and that’s where it gets frustrating. We ordered the chicken fajitas: each serving consisted of one single tortilla with a small portion of chicken and vegetables, and it cost around USD 40. As a family of four (two adults and two kids under 12), we had to order six portions and were still hungry. For that price, we expected more generous portions.

Really friendly staff. Hotel was so charming. I enjoyed every detail of the lobby and restaurant. The rooms are small but comfortable, stay dark and cool. The location next to the waterfall is such a cool way to experience this heavily touristy stop. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. Loved the full access to the coffee maker, the bowls of Skyr, and the waffles! Definitely recommend stopping and staying here!

Very good breakfast which we booked on arrival and super friendly staff with some good advice on nearby spots to visit. We had a room in a separate building right next to the main building. We were absolutely satisfied with the room and everything in general, especially the close location to Godafoss which allowed for a late night and early morning visit without any other tourists around. Also the dinner options at the restaurant were great. Strong recommendation!

The image is that of the main hotel. This is misleading.This is an annexe on the road with the rooms. The noise level of the buses and cars was a lot. The walls are too thin. I could hear the guests talking in the next room.i haven’t slept in 2 nights.The room very small. It was impossible in the tiny bathroom. The shower curtain was very long and stuck to you while having a bath as the bathroom was too small. This was very uncomfortable and un hygienic.Also there is no way you can have a shower without the curtain.

We loved everything about our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was outstanding and a great value (for Iceland), the room was absolutely beautiful, the location next to the falls was unforgettable! We wished we had stayed longer. This was our favorite place out of a 15 day trip!

Excellent location, could walk to the waterfall in the morning before it was busy but also in the evening when it was quiet. Upgraded and was out in one of the cabins which was spacious. Restaurant available for the evening, along with a small bar.

Better curtains needed on door and window for black out in summer.
