The conditions said you have to arrive before 21 so we rushed to come on time. However the process was entirely self check in. Apparently we were lucky though, as we have received the codes (to pick up keys from a key box) - many other guests did not and could not get a hold of any staff. Had I known this, I would not book a stay here even though we personally did not have any issues apart from having to rush for nothing.

The message from the hotel says that check in is till 21.00 and late check in is not possible. This wasn't true, we were provided with a code for self check in (bit this wasn't specified as self check in) and noone was waiting for us. This made us rush to the hotel and feel nervous. There is quite a strange smell in the hotel but an open window fixed this. Furniture is pretty new and ok but looks old-fashioned. A carpet in the bathroom looks dirty, no mop available.

Great kitchen with everything needed, it was clean with lots of dishes and cutlery available, coffee machine is working. Shared hall with chess and air hockey is nice. Good blackout curtains.

The staff are not available in the afternoon or evening for check-in. They only arrive in the morning to prepare the rooms for the next guests and clean up common areas. Our sink in the bathroom needed plumbing as water was going through very slowly, but no one to call or ask for help. Coffee beans ran out in the kitchen early in the morning, again no one was available to refill, instead we relied on instant coffee.

The common kitchen with all necessary appliances and amenities really helped as we were able to cook our own food for the night. Self check-in and check-out procedures are smooth with proper instructions.

It seems there was some communication issue with the hotel management team, not very responsive when you send message to them. Luckily we did get our code around noon time (suppose to be 24hrs earlier as it was mentioned). However, we did meet a group of people they didn't receive the code so they can't check in, and there seems no one at the reception desk, and phone number didn't work either.If you book, please do make sure communicate with the owner and get your check-in code. Tried helping them but didn't find a way, feel really bad about that.

The room is big and nice, kitchen is also good. We had no problem with check in as the owner did share the code with us around the noon time. It is good price to get a room with private bathroom in this area.

The common kitchen area cooking exhaust fan is not connected to any outside louvre, but exhaust all the cooking steam direct into the common kitchen area and it’s get very smoky while cooking.

What a lovely guesthouse. Check-in was super easy and the facilities were top notch. The main kitchen and dining areas were clearly very modern and spacious with tonnes of stations to cook from. The bedroom was very comfortable and had a private bathroom. The decor was a little dated but who cares. The value for money was super. Great location if you driving from Alureyri to Reykjavik.

There are no staff on property. We didn’t receive a code to get the room and it took some time to call and get that. There are no common bathrooms. We saw other people after us looking around for a way to get their code, so it wasn’t just us.

This was a comfortable place to sleep. It was nice to have a large, clean common area. It was similar to a dorm room, a good place for a quick overnight.

The room was very spacious and clean. They had a fantastic common space with a fully equipped kitchen, several cooking spaces and tables. Two big fridges. They also have a place to relax with an air hockey table and comfy sofas.
