The cottage was big, well decorated and organized. We could have dinner easily and arrive late. The host was very nice and helpful. The location is great (not too much tourists there). Very good value for money

The cottages are in the woods, making the atmosphere really magic! Our cottage was tiny but it included everything we could possibly need: the bed was comfy, the kitchen simple but well equipped. The temperature was great!

Jóhanna and her family have built a special place right outside of Egilstaðir. It is easy to get to, and the second you arrive you feel like you are in a forest getaway. The forest is beautiful with little birds, the campsite and cabins are private and there are great hiking opportunities and horseback riding. Jóhanna is very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the area and history. I cannot recommend this authentic Icelandic forest cabin experience enough!

A cozy and quaint little cabin that had everything we needed for a comfortable 2 night stay. Slightly off the beaten path, but with gorgeous views.

Johanna greeted us on the driveway and showed us the way to our cottage. In a few square meters of a privately located cottage, there was everything we needed for our two-night stay (and we would have liked to stay longer!). A double bed in the living area (plus a third bed that we didn't use), a table and a small kitchenette with the necessary equipment, a bathroom with a toilet and shower. Although it is clear that not all the equipment is brand new, everything was clean and cozy, carefully prepared for our arrival. A small terrace overlooking the horse paddock - we were lucky with the weather, so we used it for coffee and an evening drink. Our stay was also greatly enhanced by the opportunity to go on a horse ride with Johanna through the most beautiful Icelandic landscape you can imagine... thank you again!! We will be happy to come back. We wish all the people and animals on the farm good health... In the area, we recommend a trip to Hengifoss, walks in the Guttormslundur forest and the Vök spa.

Spotless and very comfortable spots, within a 10min drive to town for all the necessities. It was well stocked with all the equipment you'd need. We had a private cabin and had an amazing stay. Also nice dark curtains. Would definitely recommend this spot and any accommodation type here.

Pillows could’ve been comfier or had two, would’ve been handy to have a brush to sweep the floor and a carpet to keep our feet warm, more shelves would be handy to have more shelving units as we stayed 3 days and couldn’t put our stuff away

Microwave in the units, and putting more hooks to hang stuff in the bathroom as bathroom has tons of space.

Spacious room and bathroom, plenty of hot water and access to small kitchen. However, there is no microwave, which could have been great. I don't know why it is designed that you can not bring your car to the cottage as there is space and it will be very helpful for the guests, especially in inclement weather. Mind it that Google takes you much longer route, adding 30 to 40 minutes so I asked the owner/caretaker to let the future guests know where to make the turn, and might want to put some signs.

We watched the northern lights very well during the two nights we stayed here. The interior of the house is very comfortable. The bed is very comfortable. And the farm was very enjoyable. It could be much more enjoyable for a long-term stay.

In most of the places in Iceland we barely met the host, but it is understandable their privacy and ours, probably a longer stay will have facilitate interaction.
