Reviews of Dettifoss Guesthouse

The guesthouse is about 30 minutes from the Dettifoss. Very clean - people take their outside shoes off at the entrance, pretty large common/dining room with the nicely stocked kitchen with the fridge+freezer, comfortable beds, 3 bathrooms with heated floors (seems like brand new). There was an older couple, 2 other families with children, and a couple of women travelers, very quiet. We enjoyed our stay very much.

It was noisy - a big group of people stayed with us and they were loud.

Good sized room, comfy beds and clean. Shared bathroom and kitchen facilities but all were clean and well maintained, didn't have to wait to access them at any point. Location is 30 minutes drive north of Dettifoss waterfall. Owner let us know a left item had been found so we could pick it up which was much appreciated.

Super spacious and quiet room, perfect after a long day of traveling and sightseeing. Fully equipped kitchen perfect to cook a meal at night and spacious/clean shared toilet (particularly those in the right arm of the structure)

Some other guests were being loud and disrespectful, so we had to confront them and politely ask to be mindful of quiet time. I would encourage the owners to put on signs inviting guests to be mindful of others - not everyone is polite after all.

The sound proofing might be better. Used earplugs so not a real issue.

Very good noise isolation. We lived with a loud spanish company, but once you closed the room door, nothing could be heard. Heated floors in the bathroom is a great touch. Spacy dining room.

Probably not the most charming place to stay, when compared to other places we’ve been in Iceland. But clean, easy, practical, nothing to complain about.

Room was clean. Toilets and showers were new. Kitchen excellent. Very good!!

Location to the Asbygi region. The guesthouse has fully updated WCs and kitchen. The rooms are a nice size. The common areas are well designed. We enjoyed lunch on a sunny patio.

We loved our stay at the Detiffoss Gesuthouse. Everything was great. Modern, clean bathrooms, a great kitchen, and a dining room.

Only for the rooms close to the dining room, it was too loud to sleep as people gather there in the evenings and have loud and lengthy dining.

Great value for the money! Had one of the cosiest showers we’ve been to! Well equipped kitchen!

Old hair dryers, of which one of them didn’t work at all. The electric outlet was completely out of the wall and felt bit dangerous. Feels like minor fixes, that would greatly improve the experience.

Big and clean: rooms, dinning room, kitchen. I highly appreciated the big windows of the bedrooms and the heating floor in the bathrooms.

Maybe the hall carpet could be newest. The doors of the bedrooms also looked pretty old and were pretty noisy. But overall, it's a good accomodation and this mentioned minus just an overview about what can be improved.
