Well maintained with warm hospitality

The pillows were a bit too puffy - one of us slept using a folded t-shirt to avoid back pain. It was also quite warm in our room. I wish we had known beforehand that we would need to take our shoes off for meals (for our rooms, too, but that didn't matter). My feet were so cold during dinner and I would have brought slippers (or at least worn socks!). Maybe the guesthouse could offer inexpensive branded slippers to guests as part of the cost of the stay?

This hotel was wonderful. The very best part of our stay was the communal dining. We ate a delicious 3-course meal for dinner and sat with guests from Switzerland, Poland and Australia. The conversation was lively and the setting was in front of a picture window with an incredible view of the sea and sunset. We had a delicious breakfast with a family from Spain and again, the conversation was delightful and the food, delicious. We experienced both guest buildings - one room in each - and both were so nice. The beds were comfortable and our partial sea view was nice. The location was great for walking the birding trail on both sides of the river. We were there right before the Arctic Tern migration and they were so much fun to watch.

Wonderful location, beautiful dinner (cooked by a talented chef on site), very comfortable rooms. Breakfast was delicious, the fresh bread was a great treat. It was such a quiet place situated right on the beachfront - falling asleep listening to the waves was a huge highlight.

The room and shower were both on the small side

The communal dinner was nice , visiting with guest from around the world. There is a bar within walking distance that we enjoyed. Room was small but worked for 2 people.

closest room to the kitchen -- a bit noisy until everyone went to sleep, but wasn't noisy till late felt like there was a line to the shared bathrooms in the evening, their huge, but mb better to have a small toilet also (not just joined shower/bath and toilet)

Liked the dinner, if you have an opp - get it! great food and very good company, overall expeirence was lovely. common facilities are nice, all is very cozy the view from the table is amazing, hosts are nice, room is warm, parking is easy.

This is a small town, so not much going on as far as entertainment and might not be the best place for kids. But a relaxing area that gave a feeling of authenticity of life in northern Iceland.

Nice, quiet seaside setting with very friendly and accommodating staff. Very comfortable and modern room in one of the cottages. The dinner at a communal table was excellent and a highlight of our stay, as the meal was delicious and the international dinner company most enjoyable. And the breakfast is outstanding. A great place to stay while exploring the northern area of Iceland.

We loved the dining experience. Dinner was a family style meal where all the guestes (and some NON guests) arrived and all ate together at one tabel. This allowed us to meet people from all over the world. The food was delicious, although it is not a large quantity so my 2 teen boys were still a little hungary (luckly we had some snacks in the room). The Breakfast was also very nice. The kitchen is open to the dining area so you can see the chefs do their thing and they are very friendly so it was very easy to comunicate with them.

I should've looked closer at the amenities- not really an option to use their kitchen to make a simple meal so you should plan to eat out or have their dinner (which smelled delicious but we didn't take part due to budget).

Beautiful breakfast spread with a lovely view on the coast! Our room was large, comfortable, and clean with a great bathroom. Very quiet and peaceful area. Kind staff.

We experienced breakfasts ok, but still both mornings there was few empty plates on buffet and we ended by asking them if it’s possible to refill, it took some time. But good food.

We liked this guesthouse a lot, been staying a second time. We like rooms, it’s clean and comfortable. Staff helpful.
