The interior decoration is just spectacular -but not only , the hotel has a very authentic northern vibe - the views , the light , the design and location by the sea made our stay a truly unique experience - Hotel Karolina was my favorite accommodation during our 10 days trip in Iceland.

Breakfast table shared with other guests could be fantastic or super awkward depending on who the other guests are. Unfortunately ours was awkward. Room was fairly basic but sufficient. Walls are thin.

The rooms are located around a common area, when a group is gathered in the common area the noise carries to the rooms very loudly

Watch out for the hot water in the showers…it can be scalding!

Hotel Karolina is a beautifully calm & tastefully decorated little hotel. We loved our stay here. The harbour town is pretty & the hotel is ideally located to wander around it & stop at excellent restaurants & cafes, all within minutes walking distance. Very comfortable beds & rooms. There is also a lovely communal area & the breakfast is excellent. Super friendly & helpful staff too.

This was the absolute best of the places I stayed in in Iceland. A beautifully decorated and outfitted property with great facilities and a wonderful ambience. Staff are also exceptionally friendly and helpful.

It’s a beautiful old wooden house but this does mean it can get a bit noisy. There aren’t many other rooms so we haven’t marked it down.

The communal area downstairs was beautiful and really well maintained. Our room was cozy with comfortable bedding. We also got a really friendly welcome when we arrived.

Very clean and well appointed. The common living area is great with beautiful background music, lovely art and comfortable seating. The room was very comfortable. Staff were helpful and cordial with local recommendations and the morning breakfast was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay which was more little a B&B was there wasn’t much sound proofing. The common living room was very pleasant. We would definitely stay there again.
