How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThey offer a premium setup and service for what we are paying. I loved everything about this homestay. House owners are very polite and helpful. We can have a peaceful vacation at the location because the area sits next to sea. Can have best sunset. Room size was morethan expected and it was very clean. I've never been satisfied this much with another stay.

Verified reviewThe room was clean and very large and right on the beach, with a great balcony for sitting and ocean view. Also the best workspace table I’ve had while traveling in India. The grounds are very interesting - many flowers, including orchids set on palm tree trunks. Lots of bird life and a great breakfast spread rounded out my pleasant stay.

very unsatisfying breakfast, no lunch, no dinner
Very unfortunate to write like this, after leaving from here with least dissatisfaction. We gave you breakfast with all the items specified by you. At the time of lunch and dinner, most guests will be out on tour and they prefer food from the good and neat restaurants, where they can select items from several. Verified reviewGood location - with a sea view. Reasonably close to most Kochi attractions. The host personally attended to us along with his spouse. Room was big and airy and comfortable. Food provided was timely and good.
Access from the main road is via a really narrow lane - kind of a driving test. Suggestion - The one big room could be subdivided a little using partitions for more effective usage when there are multiple adults sharing the room.

No near by restaurants, so only option is to order food from Zomato.

Verified reviewI thought the rooms could be cleaner. The shower was cold and there was no power in it We had to pay cash, but were not told this when we booked.

Verified reviewthe location is bit far from the city. However it's in the Kumbalangi hub where u can access both Backwater and Beach in short access. We visited in Off- Season and hence we were the only Occupants in the property and enjoyed a lot. The host is very supportive and made small requests for food for our toddlers.
Being budget-friendly, most visitors are large groups and may not be suitable for families if a big gang books in the nearby rooms. Also, the front Veranda is common for all rooms. We can expect a Privacy.

No help to carry luggage. Lot of mosquitoes and termites in room. Did not enjoy the stay.
CONTRARY TO FACTS. NOTINGS UNFORTUNATE. It was us who carried all the luggages to room. We had hundreds of reviews. No one has complained of cockroaches and mosquitoes .Dont understood what in your case. May be any fly came in the last day's summer rain ? We asked guests stayed next to your check out. No such issues they experienced and regarding stairs also ok.. ***** You ckd out before 4 AM. Previous day your father and son asked me where to keep the door key while we depart very early, meaning that our presence not mandatory then and settled bill previous day, in which I deducted charges for breakfast as we did not get occasion to serve. Also your driver in waiting was very non co operative and was discouraging our work assistant lady while she helped me in lifting baggages upsatairs. Air conditioner doesn’t work properly
This is funny and sad. Cooling of A/C in one room was less first due to wrong operation from your side. While you pointed out we set it right and then you also admitted that now OK. So we are at a loss to understand why you commented like 'air conditioner did n't work properly' !. Room is used by other guests in after dates and no complaint on cooling of A/C told.
