Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe breakfasts, which are a huge part of the hotel experience, were a disappointment. I have no idea how the hotel got their breakfast award. The buffet is very good, with good pastry, egg, caviar, salmon and cheese options. But the a la carte options are nothing short of a disaster. Benedict was oversalted and the spinach was burned, making the dish bitter. The croque madam was basic at best. The frittata was also burnt and tasteless (photo attached). Also, shakshuka, while a buffet option, not an a la carte dish, was extremely basic. I can swear we had better shakshuka at some TA's 4 star hotels.
Overall, the hotel is true to the Kempinski name. It's luxurious and the service is top-notch, which is very unusual for Israel. Swimming pool is nice and clean, comfortable and relaxing enough even in a hot day. Although was quite crowded on Shabbat, but not too crowded. Lady in Red service is a blast. Again, true to it's brand. They are true professionals and made our trip unforgettable. Polina and Alice — thank you! You created some special memories for my wife's birthday, and we are likely to be back for that very reason. This is what such hotels are about. Mayan at the reception was of HUGE help when we encountered some issues with our room. She truly saved our trip and did it with understanding and urgency the situation required. If not for her, I would be writing a completely different review. Horizon lounge is a very private and very comfortable place, although I wouldn't count on it's food. But we got privacy, comfort and cocktails, so was worth it for us. Nadia was there to help and was very good with customized requests. In-room dining service is OK and so are restaurants. But you should take into account that, during the Shabbat, many options are not available.

South AfricaAs i arrived the initial person who checked me in was rather abrupt but the exceptional service from all other staff far outweighed this.
The linen and towels were outstanding. The porter -Eli and Hessel the doorman - were beyond expectations and deserve to be acknowledged as going beyond the call of duty. The concierge was helpful with getting restaurant bookings and friendly. The breakfast offering superceded all those i have been to at any hotel in Israel and i have stayed at many different hotels.

AustraliaMilchich menu only available from Sunday. Boring. But we understand this was because of staff shortages. Otherwise - all good.
Excellent breakfast Wonderful buffet Friday night Saturday lunch. Staff enabled our family reunion of 16 people by allowing us to use the upstairs room.

Israel- Service at Sereia restaurant was lacking - Most waitstaff seemed inexperienced - Poor soundproofing from other rooms; we heard water flushing intermittently.
- Room at 6th floor - Beautiful interior design both indoors and in-room - Pleasant smell throughout the hotel - High-quality food with delicious desserts - Thoughtful amenities - Surprising & delightful in-room gifts - Good room soundproofing from the adjacent pool area

AustraliaThe exterior could do with a clean. The area viewed from the guest lifts was dirty with litter and rubbish in plain view.
The hotel felt like a luxurious oasis to retreat from the hot weather. The food at breakfast was sensational!

South AfricaOn the Shabbat at the pool there was no food available as there was an issue with kitchen / ingredients and they didn’t even have the Shabbat menu. That was a big problem for us as we keep Shabbat and were unable to go elsewhere to buy food and had to make do with only fruit that they had available …

BrazilThe staff at the hotel, specially at breakfast, was a little confused. They clearly do not speak english very well - which surprised me - and every single morning we had to complain about something. But what really bothered me was the issue with welcome drink. They offered to us, which was a very nice gesture. Then you go to the bar and show it to the waiter. And you find out that you can only use it for 4 or 5 cocktails, or a soft drink. And I am paying a fortune a night. I know it seems nonsense, but that made my mind about how the chain Kempinsky thinks.
The location is perfect. The room is very confortable - which is not surprising given that it is very expensive.
