Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe pool times are limited, and a bit tight for those, who are out to nearby attractions like Massada or Ein Gedi during the day.
It wasn't my first stay here, as we try to stay with every visit to Israel at least a few days in the Kibbutz Kalia hotel. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I just love the setting if the bungalows in midst of well mainened gardens, esp. the "Desert Rose" bungalow this time. There is a nice and spacious pool ready to use for Kibbutz guests and residents. The small but well stocked grovcery store on the premises has the most essential food and non-food items for a short stay, and is most helpful, as the next grocery would be several km away at Lido Junction. The breakfast buffet is delicious and an excellent option to start the day on the Dead Sea. And, for those who are interested in visiting Qumran, the National Park is in walking distance only some 10-15 min by foot away. Last but not least, the Kibbutz is 24/7 safe by IDF serving their duty there at the gates.

United KingdomWe stayed during the off-season, so we were quite alone. However, when it is full, it will be crowded. However, this is to be expected from accommodations of this type. Potentially a bit expensive for the quality, but that's typical of Israel.
Exactly as expected from a kibbutz accommodation - simple, basic and functional. Suitable mainly for families with children, as there is plenty of outdoor space. If you are familiar with a kibbutz accommodation, you won't be disappointed.

IsraelWish they offered dinner at the cafeteria.
Gorgeous kibbutz, beautiful and serene with stunning views. The rooms are comfortable with great outdoor tables and use of a BBQ. Water pressure is brilliant and beds are good. The kibbutz has 2 playgrounds for the kids and the pool is heated and shaded over the shallow end. Just 40 min drive from Jerusalem. Its our second visit and we look forward to coming back.

IsraelThe protected areas are not well demarcated, especially since we're still in the middle of a war. I know the area is unlikely to get rockets but it would still be more assuring.
It's our second stay here and we enjoyed it as much as the first. We love the pool and the accommodation is spotlessly clean, everything works. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

IsraelIt's a very affordable 3 star hotel, so the rooms are basic, though they provide everything you'd need. The shower was brilliant. They only serve breakfast but you can barbecue and buy food in the local shop, or drive to a restaurant near by.
Perfect for little ones with a no fuss breakfast with plenty of choices, 2 fantastic playgrounds for ages 0-12. One had slides and swings, the other had more musical instruments and rope climbing. There was a shaded baby pool and the shallow area of the grown up, heated pool, was also shaded. The kibbutz is absolutely stunning with incredible views and a 5 minute drive to the dead sea, and only 30 min to Jerusalem. Kids loved it.

CanadaThe beach is situated 7 km away from the kibbutz. It wasn't clearly explained that I could have breakfast, check out, and then go to the beach. I'll do things in this order next time.
It's a great place to stay: quiet and clean. There's a conveniently located mini-market where you can get small items, snacks, soft drinks, and, if desired, alcohol. They also offer good breakfast options.

FinlandThis is a wonderful and really high-quality Kibbutz Hotel by the Dead Sea. It is safe to stay at the hotel, because the hotel is guarded by a group of +10 soldiers of the Israeli army 24h/7d and the area is fenced with barbed wire. The hotel is like its own village, there is a shop and its own nice terraced houses. And there's a wonderful swimming pool and in the yard you can grill meat in a real wood fire and buy beer from a convenience store 100 meters away. There are nice cats in the yard that you want to feed with pieces of meat. I come back here and grill outside and swim in the wonderful swimming pool or the nearby Dead Sea swimming pool.
