The hostel is perfectly located & one of the cheapest! Someone came to pick me up because I was a little bit lost to find it. The personnel are really nice! They will be happy to chat and offer you drinks & snacks every times you'll see them. Also, they offer me a very pleasant room for myself instead of the dorms because I was the only woman.

Super friendly people, I had to refuse the constant offers of free tea, coffee or food ! Was upgraded to a better room without asking, and the location is excellent !

Bab El Silsileh was absolutely exceptional. As a solo female traveller, I was ABSOLUTELY pampered and felt super safe and looked out for. Absolutely recommend !

there are parts of the hotel where there are falling debris and dust probably because of the structure.

the place was very aesthetic the ambiance was very ancient and old structure, where you can feel you are in the old time age.

It's a family business. They offer a wonderful breakfast. Honey, Mohamed and their mother Tahiny are wonderful people. Always trying to help all the time. I would come back for sure.

Chain gate hostel cannot be beaten on both location and price. I have now stayed at the hostel twice and both times have been great. The staff are helpful, always around, and genuinely great guys. The toilet and shower areas have received an upgrade since the last time I visited and are cleaned regularly. The sleeping area is well kept and clean bedding and towels provided. A delicious breakfast (veggie/non-veggie) is provided every morning and a kitchen is available for making hot beverages and warming food. Would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic hostel – exceeded all expectations! This hostel felt like home from the moment I arrived. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the attention to detail made it truly special. Every corner exuded charm and hospitality. A place where you don’t just stay, but truly experience. I will definitely be back! Despite the problems caused by the Israeli state in the region, this hostel continues to stand strong, offering travelers from all over the world a haven of comfort and warmth.

Really interesting old building to stay comfortably in old town, near to Western Walls. AC was working and shower was hot. Free coffee available. Owner was most kind and helpful, always ready to explain different details. Amazing place 🤩🤩

Staff was very cooperative. I had issues withdrawing funds from atm and the hotel manager gave me funds to manage and return later. The staff and team guided in terms of taxi and local sights. The lady preparing breakfast was accommodating of our requests. Location: excellent. Can’t be any closer to the masjid Aqsa Temple Mount

Room cleaning service is not that great. Breakfast was supposed to be included. But it wasn’t served, so probably don’t count it if it’s a major reason to book it.

It’s in the middle of the Old city. Hardly 10 steps and you are in Al Aqsa, 2 minutes from western wall. 5 minutes from schipulture church. Shops and souqs 2 minutes walk. They allowed me to wash my clothes. Good shower

There was renovation going on, so the place was a mess, but it is well positioned right at the ĝate of AL Aqsa mosque. The bed was not comfortable, and the pillows needed a refresh. Only 1 bathroom and shower combo, a second one would be great, having to wake up at 2am to beat the other guests can be challenging as everyone plans for the same. Overall, it was a good budget experience as we only needed a place to shower and sleep at night . Well worth the money spent for the convenience of al aqsa mosque. !

Proximity to Al-Aqsa mosque. It's literally on the doorstep. Perfect for group of friends who was a budget hotel with easy access to the mosque. I'd love to see this place when the renovations are completed. Would definitely book again!
