Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Some noise from next door if arriving home late or exiting early. Could do with a small hob to cook breakfast… Hot water failed last 24 hrs.
Margaret was lovely. Very welcoming and accommodating. Left little cakes. Very friendly. Room is clean and generally quiet. Easy access to central areas

It was very quiet, very clean and we had everything we needed. Especially an awesome host! Magarete welcomed us- we didn’t need to search for any codes and keys, which we highly appreciated! She even provided us with a little cake and some bread and marmalade for our breakfast the next morning. Thank you, again!

A chance of privacy and independence after the standard but enjoyable B & Bs. New clean, well appointed cabin with kitchen area including microwave. Our host Margaret surprised us with scones and apple pie. Only five minutes from Gort and an hour from Loops Head. Nice to see calves running around in the adjacent field. Would certainly recommend as it is a bit different.

There was nothing to dislike.
The location was an excellent base for exploring the area as well as being quiet & peaceful. Margaret was a lovely host. We were greeted each evening by tasty scones, cake & pie etc. We had young calves as neighbours.

The stay was lovely and Margaret was a wonderful host. She brought us fresh scones with jam, for breakfast there was bread, butter and milk with coffee. The apartment was very clean, nicely decorated, and in a good location. Definitely recommend ☺️

What an exceptional place to stay, our host Margaret was, warm, kind and helpful with advice on what to do an see in the area. Homebaked scones awaited us the first night and then after a particularly long day on the third day we got back to some delicious Bakewell tarts. Love that our neighbours were sheep! We were close to the nearest town of Gort which had everything we needed. Our room was spacious and clean. Margaret answered all questions promptly in the lead up to our stay- we couldn’t have been happier.

Everything about The Paddock is exceptional. It's a beautiful place to stay, very peaceful but still not far from anywhere if that makes sense. The host greeted us very warmly and made sure we had everything we needed. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, bright and airy and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend to others.

Unfortunately I didn't find a hair dryer, but it wasn't a big problem.
The owner was very polite, the room was small but cozy and clean, they kindly left us some pie, bread, butter and milk, we were pleasantly surprised

The property was lovely, the rain on the other hand…..
It was a real getaway in the heart of the countryside, next to a farm. The shower was hot, the bed comfy, lots of natural light and our hostess left delicious fruit cake (in addition to bread, butter & marmalade for breakfast).

The room was a bit small but there was plenty of space for 2.
Margaret, our host, was welcoming. Once she showed us around, she came back with freshly made breakfast treats! The lodgings are stand alone and it was very quiet. Sheep next door made for nice neighbors. Highly recommend!!
