Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

It's not far to walk into the centre of Kilkenny. I used taxis a few times to return to the accommodation and they were not expensive for the short distance. This is a very friendly place. Cathy has some rescue dogs and it was lovely sitting in the kitchen having a cuppa tea with my host and having a dog put his head on my lap. This place felt very homely, like I was staying with a friend that I just hadn't met before. Some mornings I'd have a dog waiting for me at my bedroom door! The house has big dense trees in front of it and that made for a very quiet peaceful night's sleep. The room was very large and the bed supremely comfortable.

United StatesThere was nothing I did not like. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Cathy was an amazing host. We loved having conversations with her over a cup of tea and being surrounded by cute puppies. The bed was super comfy and we slept like a rock. The bathroom (and bedroom) are spotless. The location is great as well, very walkable. We very much enjoyed our time with Cathy :)

BotswanaThat we only had 2 nights, will definitely return.
Cathy is the most wonderful host, and welcomed us into her beautiful home. From the minute we arrived, with loads of cuddles from all the fur babies to many a cups of tea in the cosy kitchen in front of the aga. The King size bed was comfy and room tastefully decorated. The home was spotlessly clean. Cathy's home is just a short walk to all the beautiful sights of Kilkenny. Secure parking in the yard, was great.

Kathy was real helpful and kind, and helped us whenever we needed assistance. The location of her place is in a perfect spot for walking in to town, great landscape area, and plenty of food establishments. There was a great Pub down the street called, The Nore Pub. Loved this B&B.

United KingdomBooking here was the best decision I made on my trip in Ireland. You can walk anywhere in Kilkenny from this location so it makes a great base to enjoy the town. The house is charming and my room was massive, but the best part of my stay was Cathy and the dogs. Traveling solo becomes lonesome at times, so it was lovely waking up in the morning and coming home in the evening to conversation and pets for the dogs. I really am grateful to Cathy for how welcoming she was to me.

CanadaThere was nothing that we didn't like.
it was a relaxing stay in a perfect location- easy access to the bus and easy walking to the town centre. We enjoyed sitting outside on the swing in rhe late afternoon, with the dogs providing good company and entertainment. The grounds provided a beautiful, private setting with Cathy being within easy reach if we needed her.

The two of us had a wonderful time staying in a large, clean room with garden views. The host is a treasure - warm, friendly, generous and helpful. Staying in this well located house on a big block of land made Kilkenny the highlight of our Irish trip. The dogs are delightful and well behaved.

Dogs, dogs, dogs, dogs, as I fellow rescuer, I absolutely loved staying here and interacting with the rescued dogs. Kilkenny has been the cherry 🍒 on the top of my cake on my Ireland trip. My stay with Cathy and Kate has been wonderful. The room is absolutely gorgeous. Love the antiques. Cathy was very helpful with advice on where to go to. She was very welcoming with her home baked bread and cups of tea.

RomaniaDidn’t bother us but worth noting the bathroom is accessible from a common hallway so there is a chance of running into the hosts or dogs on your way to and back.
Loved our stay so much, our hosts were absolutely wonderful and gave us amazing tips for the city and surroundings. The dogs were super friendly and welcoming. The house and our room were beautifully decorated, so many little details that gave it character. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept like babies.

GermanyCathy is an exceptional host and an exceptionally kind human being. She and her niece Kate were both so hospitable and made me feel very welcome. They offered me food, drinks, and even arranged a trip to the reptile museum which I thoroughly enjoyed. The rescue dogs all have very sweet temperaments and getting to pet them was an added bonus :P the location was great, a short walk from the city centre, and the room was very clean and excellent value for money.

Hosts (Cathy & Kate) are extremely kind, supportive, cooperative and humble. I would never meet pretty ladies like them. House Facilities are in a great condition. Location is too close from the city center, historical places, and shopping malls. I can not find words to express my gratitude regarding the stay, and the house owners. Dogs are very beautiful and kind. People shall find happiness there. I believe that all travelers would repeat their stay there. Thank you for everything :)
