We paid for breakfast which was delicious. It was made to order . Lovely staff and breakfast room. The owner was lovely and friendly. So welcoming.

There is nothing to dislike.

Location is great, walking distance to town and parking is convenient.

Bed was uncomfortable, lots of nose from other rooms. Bathrooms can be on a cleaner side .

The house was amazing! Well-maintained, clean, and the decor was exceptional. I will definitely go back.

It would have been nice to have had a shelf or cupboard in the bathroom for toiletry bags, especially when there are 3 people sharing one room and bathroom. The bin in the shared kitchen is way too small for all the rubbish.

Location was great. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops, but set back from the road, so it wasn’t at all noisy. Beds were comfortable. Very clean. Nice decor. Plenty of plugs. There’s a little kitchen down the hall with a small fridge and microwave, shared with others, which was nice. I definitely recommend Herbert House!

Our stay at Herbert House was absolutely perfect. The place was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The location was excellent, and the hospitality was outstanding. A special mention to Neil — truly the most amazing person I’ve met in a long time. He made our stay even more memorable!

Location ! Also, we were able to book a family room with an extra bed . We paid for breakfast one morning and it was wonderful . The house was cozy. The owners are great .

We booked last minute so I called the host to tell him we would be checking in late. He was so pleasant and helpful. We were very Impressed with Herbert house and its facilities. It is comfortable and spotless. We will definitely be returning.

We stopped at Herbert House for a single night of a round trip. Coming by car, the location along the main road (N71) was very convenient, with a short drive or a 15–20 minute walk to get to the town centre. Parking on site was easy. Our room was overlooking the front side parking and facing towards the road but the house was set back enough that we did not notice any noise during the night while sleeping with an open window. Since we had leftovers from previous self-catering stays we skipped the offer for breakfast but found it very nice to have a shared, well equipped kitchenette to prepare our own. If we had staid longer, we would have made use of the charming place to sit reading a the window that our room offered or the garden area. The style of this guest house and its rooms may be a matter of taste – for my liking it is somewhere between very charming and a bit over the top. But it is all very clearly shown on the photos. There is no question for the owner and anybody else we dealt with – friendly and hospitable, making us feel very welcome.

All the staff were very welcoming, they made it an incredibly pleasant experience. We have a young kid and this was perfect given the amount of space there was available.

Everyone was very nice. They took the time to show places to see & how to get around. Made suggestions for a place to have dinner. Was always available to answer any questions. Rooms were beautiful, clean & relaxing.

Locks to bedroom were a little difficult to figure out.
