The shower was dreadful had no power and I was hardly able to rinse my hair. The hotel needs some tlc, the guest rooms and common areas looked very tired and its a shame as its a beautiful hotel.

The hotel is set on beautiful grounds and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a lodge which was great and very spacious. The breakfast & lunch were very good.

Breakfast was a buffet and felt limited, with little fruit (only cut and in syrup) and few pastry or bread options. Our room was on the second floor, but the lift only goes up to the first floor, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs. The room had no air conditioning, which was a real problem during the heatwave, as it was impossible to cool it down.

The room was very spacious and there was plenty of parking, ideal if you are on a road trip. The nearby pool, which is part of the hotel complex, was wonderful, being covered, it is protected from the weather, and it also has a jacuzzi and sauna, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The hotel is nicely decorated, with an impressive main staircase, and dinner at the restaurant was good value and of good quality, especially since there are no other options nearby.

We stayed in Limerick to attend a concert in Thomond Park, while the hotel very helpfully arranged taxis for us, it's a bit out of the way from Thomond Park and Limerick city if you don't want to have to drive to them.

We stayed in one of the self-catering lodges. It was perfect for our needs. The lodge was spotless and the facilities very good. The hotel staff were excellent, extremely helpful, very friendly.

No fan in the rooms could open the doors when we were there, but had to close them when away and at night which meant the rooms were warm and humid.

Breakfast was lovely apartment was nice and the leisure pool was an added bonus. Very good value for money.

The hotel is a little dated. Having been there many times over the last few decades, there has been little modernisation but perhaps this adds to the charm of the place.

Very comfortable and spacious room (family room). Also the breakfast was terrific. The grounds are beautiful and there are nice walks that you can take along the river towards the village. Ample parking free of charge. The staff were super helpful and friendly and they helped me to set up a special surprise for our travelling companions.

TV did not work which was found to be due to two reasons. The set was not plugged in and on investigation by me I found the plug and socket was hidden behind TV which was mounted to the wall on a non moveable bracket. This meant climbing on furniture to gain access behind the set to plug it in. And when plugged in, I still could not operate it as the remote control was faulty. But the main problem was the sink in the bathroom as when operating the plunger type plug, it stuck in place meaning I was unable to drain the sink following a shave. On reporting both problems to reception everything was rectified by a lovely maintenance chap but given the status of the hotel I found this disappointing.

Spacious bedroom, lovely hotel decor with the charm of a country house building. The food and Guinness was good too!

There is a speaker underneath bedroom 103 that woke me up from the music in the lobby from early morning. Please consider turning it down in the early hours. There is no lift. The hook on the back of the bathroom door broke off. No aircon or even small fan and it was sweltering.

The bed was super comfy, the bathroom was nice. The staff were lovely, the bar is nice. It's a beautiful hotel.

The food was not good and very ill-prepared for coeliac though warned beforehand. I had only the option of a caesar salad (no chicken because vegetarian) and still charged just under 17 euros for a pile of leaves. Honestly, the cooking was overall poor. Just not very nice, even at breakfast. Scrambled egg leaking water, poached eggs like rubber.

    Room was pleasant and clean.

Areas of the hotel may require a little updating however I do understand that it is an old hotel and not change the character.

Very welcoming staff, room was very spacious and very clean. A lovely touch of having 2 Creme Eggs for us on arrival in the room as it was Easter. Breakfast was fab, great variety and super tentative staff. Pool area was lovely also.
