Our host Greta was a wonderfully cheerful woman with a deep love of hospitality. Waking up to a lovely breakfast and cheerful tips on things to do around Killarney was a fantastic start to our adventure in Ireland. If we end up back in Killarney we would gladly stay with Greta again!

Perfectly located. So close to the centre but down a quiet peaceful street. Everything was immaculately clean. True Irish hospitality. Greta is an absolutely incredible host. Attentive, accommodating, kind and funny. She goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. The breakfast was delicious and she made sure to cater to any requests with pleasure. The entire breakfast experience was efficient and speedy so that you have ample time to set off for your day. Greta is the kind of human being you are sad to leave behind. A heart of gold who deserves the very best in life. So glad we chose to stay here. She even gifted me my favourite chocolates because it was my 40th birthday. And as I’m sure you’ve read from all of the other reviews, the sweet gesture of her homemade scones everyday with butter and jam was gratefully received. We don’t have a bad word to say about our stay here and highly recommend it to everyone. You will be made to feel at home. And Greta will make sure you are well fed each morning, ready for your adventures. Thank you so much to all the staff.

The accommodations were just as described, Greta was a wonderful host - and her homemade cherry scones a daily highlight! I loved the location - far enough outside town to be quiet, but a very easy walk into the town center.

Nothing not to like.

Greta made us feel welcome from the start. Our room was spotless, as was our bathroom and the rest of the accommodation. Our room had all we needed including tea and coffee. We could park on the premises and it was only a short walk to shops and restaurants. Greta recommended Hannigans pub/restaurant and this was our best meal of our trip. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. This is one of those stays that you remember for all the right reasons and Greta was responsible for that.

Greta was an absolute angel of a woman. So welcoming and kind and the entire house was so clean. Breakfast service was exceptional and Greta was very attentive to all the guests there. It's true what they say, her cherry scones are amazing but the rest of breakfast was delicious as well. Overall an amazing experience and I will stay here again if I ever find myself back in Killareny.

The shower head was of the fixed wall-mounted kind only, which we found to be a major inconvenience. I realise this might be a personal preference and others might be totally fine with it, but for us it was a bit of a deal breaker, especially had we stayed longer than the two nights. Also the drains of sink and toilet appeared to be slightly clogged somewhere, so in general the plumbing seems in need of renovation... Breakfast was from 8 to 9:30, we would have preferred a slightly later time, but again that's more of a personal thing.

Breakfast was excellent and freshly made, the owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was cozy and comfortable, especially the small additional sofa. Outlets conveniently located near the bed. The shared guest fridge downstairs was very convenient. Also excellent location, 5 min walk into town and less then 10 min to the train station, yet still on a very quite residential street with no traffic except for the occasional driving school car using the steeper part of the street for their training.

Greta made us so welcome and couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was comfortable and clean for the 3 nights we stayed. A short walk takes you to the centre of town. Greta kept us fed for the days’ activities in Killarney with excellent breakfasts. And I can confirm the scones are outstanding! Thanks for your and your teams’ hospitality Greta. Algret House is a lovely Bed & Breakfast in Killarney. A 5-10 minute stroll from the centre of town which is full of Irish delights. From being met and welcomed by our host, the effervescent and ever so friendly Greta, we felt most comfortable and very much at home. Easy parking for a car is a bonus. The room space is reasonable but more importantly it is clean and tidy  with a comfortable bed for sleeping. The ensuite is of reasonable size with all facilities working well. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available in the room while toiletries are also supplied. After a day out, our room was serviced including fresh towels, with minimum fuss. Breakfast was delicious including home made scones and a light or heavier meal as desired. Fruit for a light snack later, is also available. Overall a well run and inviting B&B accommodation.

Greta was such an incredible host! On my last morning I had to leave early and miss breakfast, so she left some of her delicious scones and orange juice for me to bring with me on my trip. I wish I could have stayed longer! I highly recommend staying here if you're in Killarney. The room was also gorgeous, clean, and comfy, with a beautiful view. Very close to downtown.

Everything about my stay was great. The host, Greta, was amazing and always asked if I needed anything. The breakfast was very good; my favorites were the homemade waffles and scones. The location was convenient, and the room was clean and tidy. I definitely recommend staying at Algret, and I will surely come back soon.

Room was very hot because the window faced the western sun. Just close the drapes before you leave for the day.

Greta made me feel welcome the second I rang the bell! Such a lovely person who treated me like family! Bed was incredibly comfy and so clean! Breakfast was fantastic! Her husband does the cooking and it was excellent.
