How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified review- we took 2 rooms as we were roadtrip with the family in Bali and this hotel has a perfect location to walk to Ubud palace, temples for night show, local market - very calm with a view to small city rice field - a very nice local restaurant is in the same little road - staff is excellent and helping. They prepare most delicious banana pancakes my kids loved so much - the pool is large, the garden is relaxing… after our visits we want to chill - you can see beautiful sunset from the 2nd floor balcony room - they have a great laundry service at the corner !! Very convenient
You have to come to the pool “early” around 3 pm to have it in the sun … the shadow comes quick The car can’t drop you off in from of the hotel. But can drop you off a road perpendicular to Main Street - it is 3-5 min walking

Verified reviewThe staff was amazing. Friendly, warm and very accommodating! Our hotel room was in the second building towards the back (2nd floor) and was very nice. The drying rack on the balcony was much appreciated and water for drinking and/or brushing teeth was replaced daily! There is a mosquito net around the bed but honestly in five days we only saw two mosquitoes! The location of the hotel is great as well since it is situated on a side street not accessible by car! However, it is just a very short walk of 2 min to the next main street where you can be picked up by a driver for tours if necessary (e.g. at the M Mart). We mainly chose the hotel for its central location and it was easy to walk everywhere (although you always have to watch your feet in Ubud since the sidewalks are in bad shape or non-existent - normal for all of Bali though!) There are rice fields around the hotel so it is really quiet! You sometimes hear geckos at night but that is no surprise in Bali either! The breakfast is also good! You have a choice between a continental (juice, toast with jam, pancake, fruit platter or yoghurt, coffee/tea) and an American breakfast (juice, egg and warm breakfast, fruit platter or yoghurt, coffee/tea). For rainy days they offer umbrellas to take with you to town, which was really great! The garden is small but really beautiful. For us it was our first hotel in Bali during our stay and it was the perfect start for our holiday!
We could have used glasses in the bathroom. You can hear neighbours or staff when they are talking/working in the stairwell. However, we later learned that walls are traditionally very thin in Bali. It did not bother us too much.

Verified reviewThe grounds and the rooms of the Runik are just beautiful. The pool/bar/restaurant area is lush and tropical and the room has Bali vibes with modern conveniences. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the patio was the perfect place for a morning coffee (and the bamboo drying rack on the patio came in very handy!) I found the location to be perfect. Walking/scooter accessible only, so off the beaten the path and away from the craziness of downtown Ubud. When at the Runik, it's quiet and peaceful and feels like you're in the countryside, but it's only a quick scooter ride or short walk to the main road...sites, restaurants, etc. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful and went out of their way to ensure my luggage was taken care of (I left early for an excursion on the day of my check out and was not returning until late that evening to pick it up). As a solo female traveler, I left very comfortable and safe staying here.

Verified reviewRunik is reflective of what you pay for. A tranquil space in the middle of chaos with nice pool area. The rooms are a decent size & shower had great water pressure. Pancakes were nice. I think our expectations were perhaps a little high after staying in some other stunning accommodation. Great having a laundromat of your doorstep.
Unfortunately there is no ‘street appeal’ the lane down the side of the laundromat is the first impression and set the tone. A bit underwhelmed. You need to negotiate with the manager to get a fair price on the driver got the day. The bathrooms smell… I wouldn’t say musty, more like cat pee. If you keep the bathroom door open it’s not as noticeable.

Verified reviewLovely garden and pool area.
Uncomfortable bed, making noise on each move (and I’ve been by myself. Can’t imagine if we were 2). White lights in the room, killing any possible cosy vibe. Finding the property was a real challenge, badly indicated, no car access only on foot or bike. Lost on Google maps. I was turning in circles on my bike for 30 min !

Verified reviewA quiet oasis in madcap Ubud.
ground floor room was noisy with cleaners starting work just after 7am outside our room (number 1). We moved to a suite for the last night and that was very much better. Breakfast was western and no traditional offer was made - we didnt stay for that reason.

Verified reviewThis small hotel is set in a beautiful environment, and the room had a nice terrace which initially drew us in. However, our overall experience was far from satisfactory.
The hotel's location, while picturesque, is highly inconvenient. It's inaccessible by car, requiring a roughly 200-meter walk down a narrow, often muddy path. Hauling luggage along this route was quite a struggle. Upon entering, we were immediately hit by a musty smell, and the room simply didn't feel clean. The towels also had an unpleasant odor. To make matters worse, our room was infested with ants; we woke up two mornings to ant colonies forming on the walls. The hairdryer provided was practically useless, a mere 400W, blowing almost cold air. The thin walls were perhaps the biggest issue, allowing every sound from neighboring rooms to permeate ours. Housekeeping started cleaning rooms as early as 8 AM, making it impossible to sleep due in part to the constant noise. The breakfast experience was equally frustrating. With only three tables for nine rooms, we often found ourselves waiting, and on some mornings, we opted to eat elsewhere rather than endure the wait. This wasn't a major loss, as the breakfast itself was monotonous and lacked variety over our four-day stay. While the setting is undeniably lovely, the numerous inconveniences and lack of basic comfort made for a disappointing visit.
