How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe villa had a strong, unpleasant odor due to excessive humidity and was poorly maintained, with outdated and low-quality furniture. There was no laundry service available, which was quite surprising for a hotel claiming to be five stars. When I inquired about it, both the manager and receptionist simply told me to take my clothes to a nearby laundromat—completely unacceptable for a property of this caliber. Additionally, I found a spider in the bed and requested a change of bedsheets, but no action was taken. Based on my experience, this hotel doesn’t deserve more than two stars. NEVER AGAIN

Verified reviewThe breakfast has good spread. The reception and manager are very friendly and response to our request. The rooms are very spacious. The toiletries are adequate.
The toilets and rooms still have damp smell. The pillow case not so clean. The road leading to the villa are very bad, full of potholes and narrow. No transport provided to the shopping centres.

Everything else. The food was very bad, very mediocre and tasteless. The room was big, dirty and outdated, easily fills up with mosquitoes. We couldn’t sleep the last night. The bathroom was leaking from the roof and stank of mold. Drawers were smelly. Everything was overall very unkept. Faucets were oxidized. It looked so dirty. The pool was full of insects and dead black worms. The villa right next to us was under construction - they started around 8:00am. On one of the mornings they called us on the phone to wake us up, in order to calls us for breakfast - this was unrequested - we were shocked and rather upset. Some minutes later, house keeping proceeded to ring our bell 5 times, this was at 10am. We called reception asking them to stop. We never imagined the staff to be this intrusive. We couldn’t fall back to sleep. Jimbaran is in the middle of nowhere. There’s nothing around it. Everything is extremely far away. The accesses are terrible. Everything is full of trash. People kept making regards on us being white meant we had money; if we could tip them more. It was awkward. We were just waiting for our stay to reach its end. This hotel needs some TLC.

The smell of sewerage was terrible. Could not use public bathroom with smell, toilet paper had to go in bin, so smell of poo was horrible.

The moment we arrived, they give us this healthy welcome drink, coming to our villa, we are surprised by the large room with glass walls overlooking directly to our large swimming pool, and beautiful garden. The bathroom was also super gorgeous, there are separate shower and toilet plus the bathtub facing the pool, it was amazing experience to have a bath there, moreover we book their love potion couple bath with milk and rose petals while drinking wine. Beautiful and a scrumptious dinner at their rooftop with stunning sunset view. As a couple we really enjoyed our stay, there are no words to describe how romantic and peaceful our stay was. Definitely come back again!
