If you're looking for a lively cocktail and restaurant scene, this place is not you you. If you want complete peace and privacy it's perfect. The resort is not new so a few signs of wear and tear are showing, such as the cracked hand basin in our room. New mattresses are probably due too. A poolside menu and water delivery would be appreciated.

A very quiet, restful and beautiful place to spend a few days . Gorgeous gardens. Enjoyed the one hour tour of the rice padies and neighbouring village. An oasis of tranquility. Great service including the complimentary laundry service daily.

Our stay at Tanah Gajah was a wonderful experience; it exceeded our expectations. The entire team was very attentive to our well-being, always friendly and eager to help. We were celebrating an important event, and the entire team remembered this and prepared a picnic for us. We also enjoyed the spa and the excellent restaurant overlooking the rice fields. The entire resort is spread over a very large area, so we didn't feel crowded or surrounded by other people. We will definitely want to return—we already miss it.

Everything was great. Yes, there were some small bugs and geckos outside, but they were all harmless and stayed out of our way.

Our honeymoon at Tanah Gajah in Ubud was pure magic! Nestled among serene rice paddies and stunning, well-maintained gardens, it's a truly peaceful escape. Our villa was perfect: beautifully furnished, spotless, and fully equipped. The private pool was a delight, and the gate to the rice fields was a unique touch we loved. Evenings were made special by the outdoor bath. The restaurant setting is very romantic and food was absolutely amazing and delicious. What made our stay truly exceptional were the included benefits: a relaxing massage, an incredible hot air balloon experience, insightful rice paddy trekking, and daily afternoon tea and cocktail hour. The thoughtful evening turn-down and biscuits were also much appreciated. We even saw a captivating fire dance! The staff were simply incredible—so friendly and attentive, making us feel incredibly pampered. Ubud is about a 15-minute drive (traffic permitting!) and the resort's free daily transport made exploring easy.

Had an amazing (yet too short) stay at the resort with my family. Beautiful place, amazing staff, and very nice facilities. We had the opportunity to enjoy the views from the hot air balloon, which was memorable. Our only regret was that our stay wasn’t longer.

perfect location for a calm and relaxing time, offering excellent food in Villa breakfast and a great selection of drinks and wine. Attending the Tuesday and Friday night Kecak dance is an absolute must when staying at Tanah Gajah resort. The resort is far enough away from the bustle of Ubud but just a short hotel car ride away to go shopping or exploring art and culture. It is so good that we have returned at least once every since our first stay in 2014 (except for COVID shutdown times) Definitely worth the travel. The ideal place to stay.

The pool is located in a nice area, however, it is not heated.

The grounds of the hotel are very beautiful, with several sculptures. The room was of a good size, nicely decorated and comfortable. And the staff was just superb - really helpful, quick to react, polite. It is rather small hotel so it feels very private. Their whatsapp 'concierge' was very convenient, and the staff responded promptly.

Exquisitely decorated expansive resort with serene open spaces and beautiful peaceful luxury villas Staff are just amazing, kind and generous and offer Aman level customer service. Their inclusions are a wonderful addition including minibar, transport to and from Ubud and much more. If you can’t find happiness and serenity here and don’t love it then you probably need to see a psychologist

- gym air-conditioning could have been better. but ok as you were distracted working out with a view of the rice fields

- food was great. Afternoon tea complimentary was a great addition, with new items ever day - room was better than anticipated. Very large, and outdoor bathroom was unique. - the staff were wonderful, and every single need was accounted for and supported efficiently via WhatsApp. they truly made our stay very welcoming!! - complimentary laundry was appreciated and unexpected! - shuttles to and from town made for easy access to restaurants - the grounds and pool were inviting and relaxing - so much was complimentary that we didn't expect. including a spa service, room sweets, and sunset cocktail!

The only non amazing thing was the food by the pool. It’s not up to the standard of everything else. I will say though that I had a dish at dinner of confit chicken with mash, jus and vegetables, it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had.

The property is stunning! Super super quiet, like we only saw other guests at dinner, one other table. Then breakfast three tables. The staff were the best, remembered everything we liked and looked after us to perfection. The villa was stunning, the history is lovely. All the free inclusions were lovely.
