How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHighly recommended - Really lovely staff and perfect place to stay if you want to be out of the touristy Ubud area. We stayed at the smaller villa for 4 nights and had the option to rent a scooter directly from the same location. I chose the smaller villa based on the reviews since I wanted more privacy and it worked well. If sunny, the private garden is perfect for sun-bathing with the sun directly in the pool from ca 10-11 am :) The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped and you have the option to get your laundry done for a very reasonable price. All delivery from Grab worked well for us. There are a few lizards and tiny frogs in the plants next to the pool which is very cute, they just stayed in their spot :)
I would recommend to check the drinking water dispenser because the water often kept leaking, unnecessarily wasting water and making the floor wet. Another point is to please check the glasses and dishes after the previous people (we had a lipstick stain on a glass from someone else).

Verified reviewBeautiful place, the design of the room. Friendly staff, very clean, good quality.
We felt that in the roof something was living, we thought it's bats, so from evening you can hear noise from the roof and from surrounding areas, road and cafe near by. When it was heavy raining the water come into the room and half of the room got wet

Verified reviewAll staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our bed on our 2nd day, and the owner came directly to solve the problem and made sure everything was okay. The property is still new and well-managed, quiet and peaceful as me and my partner expected
Some chalk for the anti-ants would be nice for the kitchen

Verified reviewIt was one of the best places I stayed in Bali. The morning in this place with allround glass walls is amazing. Yes there is a rice fields just next to the place and locals can arrive, but it wasn't issue for me. I would stay here again when I'm back to Ubud for sure.
Can't complain about anything.

Verified reviewLovely villa with everything you need, very private, and nice staff. The restaurant next door was nice to have some food and coffee. Ubud and the famous rice fields a short drive away. You can rent a scooter here too.
I don't think its the most beautiful or interesting area around Ubud, but it's pretty quiet (sometimes there are some workers in the rice fields next to the villas)

Verified reviewNice and new villa, pleasant staff.
They told you on arrival that they overbooked and moved you to another villa. It’s ruins your comfort especially if it’s rainy and after sunset. You’ll have to struggle for your comfort

Verified reviewIt is more than just a villa; it's a secluded paradise that offers an unparalleled escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nestled amidst lush greenery, floating water and serene mountains, this private haven provides the perfect setting for relaxation, rejuvenation, and unforgettable moments. From the moment we stepped into the villa, we were captivated by its stunning architecture and impeccable design. The spacious, airy room, adorned with tasteful furnishings and local artwork, exude a sense of luxury and comfort. The private pool, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, is an invitation to unwind and soak up the sun. The villa's attentive staff went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. Their warm hospitality and personalized service made us feel truly special. They were always there for us. One of the highlights of our stay was the opportunity to explore the surrounding area by bike rental available at the property. With ease we made it to vibrant markets and cultural attractions, there's something for everyone to enjoy. However, we often found ourselves drawn back to the villa, eager to relax by the pool and simply savor the tranquility of our private villa. The BAgus lokha Ubud villa is the epitome of luxury and privacy. It's a place where you can truly disconnect and recharge. We highly recommend this exceptional villa to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable vacation experience.
A small water leak at the main door while raining and there were few lizards.

Verified reviewMy flight didn't arrive until midnight, but the manager helped me arrange a taxi pick-up and had someone wait up for my arrival. This made me less worried about checking in. I thoroughly enjoyed the private pool and how spacious and big the whole villa was. The staffs were really helpful as well, offering suggestions for travel and places to visit. Ordering breakfast from Tasty Warung next door was also topnotch. I really enjoyed my time here.
This place is further from the city center, so be aware of that if you want to be closer to the main tourist area. Also, the weather in Bali was much cooler than I thought, and it was sad I wasn't able to open the doors to allow the cool air in without also letting in mosquitoes.

If no car or motorbike, moving even just to neighbouring warungs is somewhat difficult given the traffic.

Verified reviewBeautiful private villa. Worth the price. Very helpful staff. Quiet location away from the busy traffic roads of ubud.
It would have been good if toiletries such as toothpaste and toothbrush are available but it was not a big deal. All the other villas/hotels we stayed in Bali had these basic toiletries. But this villa is highly recommended. I would stay here again when in Bali.

Verified reviewExceptionally clean and spacious villa, with well-maintained amenities like the kitchen and private pool. Wayan was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay, organising transport, laundry and spa treatments for us, to name a few. He really made sure we had the most enjoyable stay possible in Bali, adding a special touch as we were celebrating our honeymoon. Location was also great, with the villa overlooking a beautiful rice field - worth noting it's about 15-20 mins on a bike from Ubud centre, away from the chaos! Scooters were readily available at the villa or Grab bikes came pretty quickly as needed.
Nothing! We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our time in Bali.
