Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing. I loved my extended stay here.
A rare hidden traditional Balinese gem away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The views were breathtaking also. The room was clean and very spacious. A bamboo paradise. Manik the owner of the property was very helpful and accomodating and full of wisdom. A genuine soul who even gave me a special elixir when I had Bali Belly. Absolutely adored my stay here and I came back to Sari Wangi Cottage twice for the peace and tranquility.

AustraliaAs with most tropical places, dampness and humidity makes it difficult to keep the space aerated well so there's some mould around, especially with the organic design of the architecture. Not too much problem for me but I imagine if sensitive to mould it would be good to take precaution.
One of the most beautiful places I've stayed in. So much wildlife, including delightful squirrels, dancing their way through the coconut palms and lush jungle all around. The downward flow of the villas gives a sense of seclusion. Felt private, safe and cocooned by nature. The room was spacious, and artfully designed. Felt like a little getaway perfect for some quiet space beyond the hubbub of Ubud city. There's plenty of cute eateries and shops along the road, within 5-30mins walk, and rice paddies to visit nearby - but also easy to use Grab or Gojek to get places. Manik was a joy and such a caring host, helping with luggage, offering to support with anything else, and quick to respond to messages. Thank you!

AustraliaIt would be so great if there was a portable fan in the rooms. It can get a little hot on some nights even with the overhead fan.
Sari Wangi is a hidden gem in Ubud. There is no traffic noise and the views are just stunning. The only sound is the beautiful waterfall on the edge of the property. Our host Manik is so friendly and helpful.

FranceThere were parts in the windows that had no glass, so I had some ants and other insects in my room. There was only one socket in the room(the one where the fridge was plugged in).
The owner of the place Manik is very kind and interesting person, we had enriching conversations. The breakfast was good (eggs, toasts and fruits). I appreciated the calm and tranquility of the place, only 5min by scooter from the center of Ubud. There is a nice swimming pool where you can relax and lots of green plants and trees in the garden. The environment is very zen and pieceful.

NetherlandsYou have to be aware that the bathroom is outside, and the pool area is a bit aged.
The owner of this property was super friendly and helpful. We rented a scooter from a friend of his and he got us tickets to the community performance, where he performed himself as well. He also helped us with booking transportation to our next destination. We had a lovely time.

GermanyWhen we checked-in he wasn’t prepared and cleaned the room while we put our luggage in the room. That was not bad but it was shocking to see that he used one cleaning-rag for everything…. starting in the toilet, going over all surfaces. To be honest everywhere in Indonesia they have not the same understanding for clean and hygiene like us.
The view was just amazing! It is like you look directly in the Dschungel. We had a huge room on the first floor. The breakfast was a good one with lots of fruits. Manik is a really friendly guy with a warm heart and a lot of philosophy. He loves to share it.

South AfricaThis is a place for rest and healing. It's tucked away from the noise of the town center in the beauty of some of Ubud's finest nature. The room is cosy, spacious and clean, and the bathroom is quite a marvel. It feels like being in a temple in this place. The host Manik greeted me with warmth and openness each day. A lovely place that I will definitely come back to.

Czech RepublicIts not possible to reach accomodation by car, so if you have a lot of heavy baggage its hard to get there. You cant close all windows, so be prepared to stay there with gekons and some ants.
The room is really huge and is situated in a calm place in the garden. Mr. Manik serve good breakfast with a bowl of fresh fruits which was great and served every morning on our balcony. Its not a long way to the centre of Ubud and lot of warungs and shops are on the way.
