How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWhat a pleasure it was to stay here. The whole family are so welcoming and I’m so glad I chose to stay. When I arrived I was shown around my room which had freshly picked flowers!! Apple kindly offered for me to move upstairs as he felt it would be better suited for my yoga- how sweet! I learnt at the end of my trip that he is a reiki master too! The room is nicely cool at night without the need to have the aircon on. The breakfast was delicious with a choice of tea/coffee and a delicious juice. Location is great and not far from the Centre but if you fancy a break from exploring you can easily book at day pass at many of the hotels in the area to relax by the pool- just contact them ahead. Would 100% stay here again thank you for all your kindness, best wishes and hope to see you again😊

Verified reviewI'm very happy with my stay. Apple gave me a warm welcome when I arrived and showed me up to my room. I'm very glad to have been given the upstairs room as the views are lovely. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning kept me cool. The bathroom was nice and I was patient while the hot water came through. The wifi was good and the photos in the listing are accurate. There are excellent restaurants and other facilities nearby. The breakfast was delicious, especially the juice from the shop below. I loved sitting on the balcony looking over the palm trees. The place was nice and clean.
I would have liked to be able to lock the door when I left. The key was there but the door didn't seem to lock. I used the floor mat to keep the bathroom door closed when I was in the bedroom, otherwise it slides open by itself. The fridge on the balcony was a bit loud but I was grateful to have access to the fridge so close to my room. It is on a quite busy road but the room is at the back of the property which helps.

We kept having hot water issues and there didn’t seem to be a temperature control fitted so it was either scalding hot or cold. You couldn’t change the temperature on the villa downstairs.

Verified reviewThe location was great. Close to everything, but still quiet. The host was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and very comfortable.
The shower had fairly low water pressure and it was very difficult to regulate the temperature. Also, the steps up to the room are very high… adding a small step at the bottom would really help.

Verified reviewThe only thing acceptable about this location was that it was a bit further away from the main hustle and bustle of Ubud and not much noise while sleeping.
The property is completely mis-represented on Booking.com. The listing is not accurate and very unsafe. The property does not feature any of the listed facilities except kettle. There is no other service available- no housekeeping, no cleaning, no iron and no proper breakfast. The toilet and bath do not have any ventilation and this is very dangerous especially if we are staying for more than 1 night- due to NO ventilation, the air in the room is quite bad. This listing cannot be rated 9.6 and booking.com needs to properly review this. The pictures are very deceptive and the property owner is not honest about the amenities and condition of the place. The condition is so bad that we had to check out early without finishing all 5 nights of our booking. Those who are booking this property must note that it is a budget option- the only good thing is that it's around 60 AUD per night and may be helpful for those who are sticking to a budget. Even then, we have seen better properties for that range and do not recommend staying here. The property owner will offer his two wheeler motorbike for a daily price- do not accept it, there are a few rentals very close to the property who offer a better rate. We made the mistake of accepting without checking as we were quite tired from the flight and were still in a bit of shock after checking out the condition of the room.

All reviews are given by our guests who have stayed with us, and can be proven by reviews from our previous guests who were happy to stay with us. You said our breakfast was not decent, while other guests reviewed our breakfast as very good and the service from the owner was very satisfying. We think it is you who needs to be evaluated. We also suggest that if you really want a perfect place, please choose a large and expensive hotel. We also think you are out of your mind to ask booking.com to review our review score, even though there are clearly summarised reviews from our previous guests. Verified reviewThe room is spacious, clean and the bed is comfortable! The location is a bit outside of Ubud, perfectly situated on the way to the rice terraces. I enjoyed the beautiful natural surroundings while being close to the town. And the host – such a kind human being!
I could hear outside noises in the evening, but they were gone during the night and I slept well. The bathroom was at times a bit smelly, but airing helped.
