How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThis hotel is a few kilometres from Ubud centre which I honestly loved. It was easy and super cheap to catch a motorbike ride to town and those rides were my favourite part of my stay in Bali. I also liked that the property was quiet and calm, away from the high traffic areas. The room was spacious and and the property and pool pleasant.
Perhaps some more outdoor chairs in the garden area to read and relax would be nice but I didn't really miss it. There is no laundry service but there is a laundry right around the corner.

Verified reviewThe rooms had strong working air conditioning and the touch of a mini fridge is great for the hot weather. I’m not a breakfast person but being able to choose what you want and what time it gets delivered to your room is great! Pool is clean and gets lots of sun. Staff are also very friendly and attentive. We had a power cut and they came round candles
The animals do make a lot of noise in the night/early morning but they do provide you with ear plugs for this reason. I didn’t like the open bathroom as often showering with geckos but that is common in Bali

Verified reviewThe staff were super friendly and helpful. My flight was delayed, I didn't get to the property until 2am. The owners was kind enough to check me in. The 2 young men who worked there remembered what I liked for my breakfast by the 2nd day. They were always polite to me. The location was about 15-20min drive to downtown Ubud. It was nice to have some peace and quiet. I went in July. There was no problem with the bathroom flooding or bugs in my room like other people wrote.
I wish I knew people in Ubud burned things every day in the rice field. If I had known that, I would have skipped Ubud, or shortened my stay. Also when I visited, there were ceremonies to celebrate the dead. One of the neighbors was very serious about the ceremony, and play really loud music and other weird crying and laughing sound for more than 24 hours straight. A few of the guests and I couldn't sleep, even with earplugs in. It was just our luck, it wasn't the hotel's fault.

For burning carried out in rice fields, it usually occurs after the rice harvest and what is burned is the former rice plant. And it does often happen in the rice fields in Bali. For death ceremonies it is quite long for the process and it is usually from morning to night. It is also a Balinese tradition that cannot be prohibited. Verified reviewBreakfast was good and good portion. Location is good, outside Ubud with not so much traffic. Room was nice.
There was something in the room, possibly a large lizard or bat, that left droppings. Outside, there was an aggressive black dog. Although people claimed it didn’t bite, it did try to. If you have children, this could be dangerous! One of the staff members couldn't speak English, so we needed a translator all the time. She spent her time at the entrance watching TikToks and wasn't helpful. The bathroom was left open after the cleaning, which could result in being swarmed by mosquitoes.

Verified reviewLocated in a village, and the villa is shielded from the noise of traffic. With only 4 units, it provided a very quiet and comfortable area with its large garden, swimming pool. The sound of roosters and birds as early as 4am took us back to the times we grew up in a rural and farm setting. Short walk to a waterfall (except that the climb is steep, and there were no railings) and a hidden rice terrace which was just lovely.
Nothing to dislike.
