Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBreakfast was nice but more western style. Please offer Bali style breakfast.
Great family operated guest house. Such a quiet location in the heart of Ubud. Rice fields around house and coconut palms . Short walk to cute lane with open rice fields and shops for massage, coffee and restaurant- warung open air style and new bamboo coffee house. Rooms are huge.

RomaniaFor us was not an issue, but I need to mention that the room does not have a small fridge and TV
A really peacefull place, near to center of Ubud, but a quiet place. It is placed also very close to the rice fields. The hosts are very kind and eager to help you with anything you need. They make you feel at home. The room were very spacious and clean with air conditioning, rustic furniture and balinese decorations. Also, had a spacious terrace where you can admire the nature, the sound of it and where you can read a book or taking a nap. The room cleaning was daily and the breakfast is prepared by hosts with fresh fruits or juice, eggs, noodle soup, toast, pancake.

New ZealandIf you struggle with large steps or carrying your own luggage this is not the place for you. Best to arrive in Daylight to make it easier to find. Used toilet paper had to go in a bin, not down the toilet. The shower is basic. Old style but functional.
"Made" is a fantastic host. His family made me feel very welcome and as a solo traveling provided me with much needed conversation. I had many interesting conversations with other guests (22yrs up to middle aged) over the provided breakfast which was held in an intimate setting. Made shared his insights regarding Bali today which I really appreciated. Elsewhere I was given the boring "sanitized for tourists" version. The accomodation is exactly as advertised. My room had both a ceiling fan and airconditioning perfect for those who don't want to get sick from sleeping under aircon cold air. The room I had was well protected from mosquitos. Mesh netting to keep them out! It's surprisingly quiet given that it's a 10min walk to Purma Dalem Temple and the main road. I slept well here. Best to arrive in Daylight to make it easier to find. If you struggle with large steps or carrying your own luggage this is not the place for you. Once here you need not go down into the hectic fray of the mainstreet as there are several good restaurants, yoga places (recommend Yoga Studio), massage places (recommend Diann'ah at Serenity Spa) in the adjacent rice fields. Note that the " Nirwa Homestay" is different from the "Nirwa 1 Homestay" where I stayed and Made and his family live. They own both. Nirwa 1 does not have a pool but Made said I could use it. A 15min walk gets you to Campuhan ridge (fantastic eateries, art places, idyllic lilly pond tranquil places, hotels which allow you to use their pools (includes a towel, shower) for 150,000 Rp. Try Kastara's infinity pool and fantastic food. You may need to ignore the timber processing noises in the adjacent valley though. The amazing Alchemy Yoga temple, restaurant and Plant Bistro restaurants are also only a 15min walk. For dancers there is Bara Studio. Thanks Made (and family) for your friendly hospitality and making my Bali holiday so memorable.

JapanIt's very quiet and the breeze from the rice fields feels nice. It's at the end of a narrow road so you have to walk there, but you can see a wonderful rural view.

NetherlandsThe rooms on the ground floor can be a bit dark so if you can, book one of the rooms with the balcony. The deluxe room on the top has amazing views. A bit more interaction with the hosts would be great, the place gives more a feeling of hotel than guesthouse but that's also cause it's quite big. There is a little walk you have to do but it's not long but if you have a lot of luggage can be an issue, then best to coordinate with the guesthouse for help.
The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean, one of the cleanest I encountered in Indonesia. The facilities are great and the rooms are large. The building is absolutely beautiful and the decor is stunning with the temple garden.the location is so quiet and close to a lovely rice field walk and cafes but not far from the center. Totally recommend!! Also yes there is a path to go back but as a solo female traveler I didn't feel unsafe because it is very short and also there are other accommodations around so it doesn't feel you are totally isolated. Also no aggressive dogs around, all the dogs were friendly

SingaporeThere are sometimes dog poop outside the door but I think it cannot be helped, also, some staircase from main entrance so bring only light luggage!
It is close to a big rice field and nature, and a lot of yoga shalas around, very peaceful and feels right at home. Gusti and Ayu, Sri and baby Bagustia are very warm hosts and it’s like you live with the family. I stayed here so happily for almost two weeks

AustriaWe enjoyed our 4 days at Nirwa homestay so much and can recommend it wholeheartedly! The room was squeaky clean and the super sweet staff lady was here everyday to keep it that way. Thank you! Everytime you enter or leave the building you get the warmest greeting and good buy you can imagine! The whole family spreads very positive and relaxing vibes and we had a lot of good talks with them. Like others have already said, the homestay is super quiet, but also very close to the center, best of both worlds! Please if you are planning to stay in Ubud, choose this place and book as many nights as you can get! We were sad when we had to leave after 4 days.

CanadaHad a fantastic stay at Nirwa. The family is exceptionally warm and welcoming. The breakfast each morning was splendid. Will be coming and staying again next time. The walk that people mention isn’t actually that far and is great because it keeps all the busy motorbike traffic away from the room, keeping it calm and peaceful. The grounds are gorgeous and feel’s like a sanctuary from the busy town.

IndiaIf they would have had the food options , it would been really very helpful as one has to go out to have their lunch & dinner every time , but nevertheless one can always book the food through Grab Or eat nearby.
Would you like to stay in a place surrounded by Rice Fields , Have a loving Hospitality , Cheaper Price , Spacious Room , Passion for Art , then blindly book this place .The fact that Sri & her family are really nice when it comes to serving the guest . I did see many other properties but my heart said book over here , so glad that I stayed here for 4 days & I am determined to come back for a longer stay next time . The house keeping staff who is such a sweet lady who came to pick my luggage & show me the way while checking In . She is just too good . My Laundry was also done nicely & I am happy with the same .The Place popularly called Rice fileds is filled with many art shops where you will find many Paintings in Ubud . Good to have a walk with your loved ones in the natural surroundings . The only issue with this Hotel is they don't serve you food apart from their breakfast so you will have to have lunch & dinner outside which you will find nearby .Ubud is such a lovely place to move around & spend your time . Do come to have a relaxing Getaway over here. Thank you NIRWA & TEAM FOR THE WARM & LOVING HOSPITALITY.
