There is building being done next door which may change the tranquility of the villas.

The Joglo villa is fantastic! Very traditional and comfortable. Beautiful garden and pool. Location is good with an easy but interesting walk to town. We will definitely book again.

Our swimming pool went green on the second day so couldn’t use it anymore (and having our own pool was one of the reasons for choosing villa).

The bore water was a little bit smelly and at one point we lost hot water while I was half way through a shower. They fixed it in a reasonable time though

The musty smell (probably expected during wet season)..and whilst the furnishings looked good, the outdoor daybed I think had some bug in the mattress/pillows that left little red marks over my legs, the water is bore water and (as they say in their compendium) smells. The air conditioning was underpowered for those (like us) not used to the humidity.

It would have been nice to have a electric kettle as there were fume smells when using the gas stove.

The property was lovely, very spacious and clean. Everything we needed was provided including pool towels and beach loungers. There was a lovely place to eat directly outside the garden gate.

Maintenance could do with a bit of work. Not cleaned properly. Drinking water not refilled - it was empty by 3rd day. Couches had stains. Empty bottles not removed until end of 4 days stay. Lower level room needs ceiling fan. Coffee supplied was stale, all stuck together from humidity.

The beach which is very dirty. Lack of privacy/security as the only door is the bedroom and bathroom and have to lock belongings in bedroom if you go out.

I have to remind myself I am reviewing the villa and not Lovina itself or the beach as neither of those last two were nice. Lovina Beach house villa with its own pool, was rather unique. It is a recycled teak wooden house, and it is in a quiet part of the beach and was rather nice. It had 2 bedrooms, and we were only there 1 night so probably did not rally reap the rewards of its own pool and the size of it. It had a couple of bathrooms and a generous living/dining area. The kitchen was rather average. Because it is completely open, and only a few metres from the beach, we had to lock our bags in the downstairs bedroom for the security of our belongings. This was rather odd and an inconvenience. At night it is still open obviously, so I had to go around and pull the big blinds down all around the house. It was not the sort of house you would settle down in for a cup of tea or even a meal at night. It just did not really gel with me and felt awkward. We locked our bedroom door at night as the house is only a blind away from someone entering at night. Crime is relatively low I think, and I wasn’t worried about our safety, it was just a little weird/unusual. We went for a walk along the beach towards the centre of Lovina before the sun went down. There is a Warung right next door. We walked to the dolphin statue in the centre. The beach is black sand and is grubby. Lots of rubbish and just ‘stuff’ everywhere, broken pipes, wood, rubbish etc. etc. On our way back to the villa, the sun had set, it was on dusk and the number of dogs running at us and barking in packs was ridiculous. Maybe not dangerous but certainly off putting. We had a nice massage by the pool the next day before checking out. The rate was good especially for a group of 4, and the fact it was on the beach, and had its own pool. We had a walk the other way after we checked out and found Lovina Hotel. The setting was lovely and had a beautiful meal right by the beach.

The mosquito nets above the beds were covered in dust, which did make it feel comfortable sleeping underneath them. Also the upper room has a stairs down to the bathroom, which for us was not comfortable at night. At the villa there is a book explaining why the water smells. Even though they cannot do anything about it, it did not feel clean to shower there.

The location is the best part about this villa. You are right on the beach. The boats can pick you up in front of the gate to go see the dolphins. Also the outdoor seating is very spacious and the garden well maintained. The private pool in the front allows you to relax as well. Location is at a quiet part of Lovina. The beach is clean to swim.

Not the fault of the property but lots of barking dogs at night! Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper!

Nice beachside villa with private pool. Comfortable layout and well located. Warung next door is handy but breakfast prepared by the property itself was good. The town itself is somewhat sleepy with a few restaurants and souvenir shops but the beach is calm and great for kids.

Lots of steps, not great for anyone with mobility/knee issues.

Location was amazing, immediate beachfront 😊 Short walk along the water to dolphin statue and local warungs. An easy 10 min walk out to main road. Stay downstairs, its much cooler! Beautiful view from upstairs tho for breakfast 😊 Awesome tree growing through the house which is unique. Swimming pool really refreshing on hot days.

The wifi was not consistent and was at times very weak. This was a problem for my husband and I as we stayed three weeks, and we were working. Additionally, the dogs on the beach were very noisy when disturbed and so often, particularly at night and in the early hours, there would be a lot of dog howling.

We were in Seahorse Villa. The villa and private pool were wonderful, located very close to the centre of Lovina and the villa backed straight onto the beach. It was a wonderful location, and every evening promised a beautiful sunset. The staff for the group of 5 villas were very accommodating.

Ubfortuneatley the property had a problem with water at quite a few times we had none through the taps, quite annoying when in the middle of a shower! Hopefully this is resolved by now.

hot water did not work at night. we expect to take a shower in the night but the water slow and not hot. but when it comes to morning time, the water runs normal again.

The sea view villa we were in, the layout of the villa was terrible. One bedroom downstairs, 1 bedroom upstairs - which had the extra bed in there - the upstairs bedroom had its own bathroom but had to go downstairs to access the bathroom but had no access elsewhere in the villa. Very confusing layout, lots of unnecessary stairs and stairs were slippery and not stable.

Great location right on the beachfront. Within walking distance to main town and restaurants. Private pool and villa style bathrooms were great. Manager was fantastic and very helpful

Due to bore water being used the water pressure in the shower very poor and the water had an unpleasant smell

Great location,comfortable bed,very roomy and great sunset to watch every evening Cooking facilities where there to use however we did not use them. Large fridge and comfortable seating. The grounds and pool where regularly maintained and overnight security was there every night

Small things like safe custody was not working, requested fixing but was not. TV was not working. Was taken away for repair. It was a long walk to convenience stores, shopping etc. The beach could have been cleaner.

Pool was great. Breakfast was extra but well worth it. The lady making breakfast was just lovely. The villa itself was spacious & comfortable. The garden was beautiful.

Apart from at arrival, when we met a staff member, and first thing next morning (when we pointed out that there was no water in the water container and that the tube of insect repellant was actually empty- both of which were clearly indicated as provided in the documents on site ) we didn't see anyone for the rest of the stay. No change of linen after 2 days- as also stated on the documents on site- and couldn't find a staff member at all after 2-3pm. However, many turned up as we were leaving. Were they there to wish us well or expecting a tip? Also, the mattress was extremely solid.

The villa was lovely and we were very happy with our choice. The people were very welcoming and the pool was lovely. Great location near beach and we could take a boat to see the dolphins just near our villa on the beach. Lovina is not busy like the south so you don't need to long there but was a very lovely place and was very cheap. We were able to have a massage in our villa and was able to walk to restarants/shops. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.

The location is amazing, just stepping on the beach when you walk out of the garden! The house itself is comfortabel, well equipped and in a lovely authentic Indonesian style. We really enjoyed our stay and would have loved to stay longer!
