How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThis was one of my best stays throughout my entire trip! The team were amazing throughout. Super helpful, very kind and had some great referrals as I was not well during my team. The room was gorgeous and had the cutest little additions. From fresh fruit every day, homemade cookies and the best slippers. I really felt super special. The room was also gorgeous, really spacious and an amazing bed. The room has an outdoor patio and the bathroom is the star of the show. Outdoor bathtub and shower was amazing! Got to take a selfie with the amazing team.

Verified reviewOverall, it is a great place and service with attention to all minor details. The staff, every one of them, is some of the friendliest and most supportive hotel staff I dealt with. They are all nice and professional and try to support in every way. Special thanks to Mai and Jessy for their great leadership, attentivness and support. I didn't book breakfast, but ordered some dinner and appetizer options. The taste and presentation were on point. They also offered numerous complimentary snacks and drinks which was a lovely gesture. On my birthday, they surprised me with a beautiful cake and a message :) and many of them wished me a happy birthday. That was truly nice of them. The rooms are modern, spacious and clean with great design for comfort. I definitely loved my stay there and would be back if I'm in Lombok again.
The only downside is the area, not the hotel. Mataram is a lively city with many local marts and food options. I just found it to be a bit far away from each good beach option. You have to rent a motorbike or you'll pay a big sum of money in transportation and this affected my budget. The staff tried to help me rent one, but unfortunately, nothing was available for days since it was a peak season. It took around 40 mins by car/motorbike to go to Senggigi area, around an hour to go to Bangsal harbor and 1.5 hours to get to Kuta.

Verified reviewEvery aspect has been carefully thought through, the food was amazing, the rooms were well-equipped and comfortable and the environment was really beautiful. The staff were exceptional, and provided freshly squeezed juices and hand-made biscuits and snacks everyday. I highly recommend Ayom Suites. I loved the outdoor spaces and the pool. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. You can hear the call to prayer from the local mosques but this added to the atmosphere of Mataram.

Verified reviewThis is the second time that I stayed at Ayom Suite and it was as good as the first time. The stay was comfortable and the staff were so attentive and friendly during our stay. They took a casual remark by my mom that it was hot in the restaurant and they moved the tables and chairs to set up space for us to dine in an aircon room. I have never seen customer service as good as the one they have shown from other accommodations that I stayed during my trip. They also provided complimentary drinks and biscuits during the stay and gave new biscuits everyday which goes well with the tea and the brownie bits were so addictive and yummy. I brought a bike and during the night when it rained they helped to keep my helmet aside as well which was really nice. The pool water was also warm at night which was great for a swim. Location is fantastic as the place is in the city centre and just 10 minutes away from Lombok Epicentrum Mall and there are many dining places around. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Mataram as the experience was 10/10.

Verified reviewEverything was amazing, I got a welcome snack and drink, the manager came and gave me a hand as a hello. It was rly respectful. They clean the room 2 x a day and spray every evening with sone spray for the mosquito ( the spray smelled good). In the evening they prepare a night snack and bring every morning fresh juices, it was rly nice !

Verified reviewI stayed at the Ayom Suite as I had a relative who was a patient in a local hospital. I did not know anyone in Lombok. The staff went out of their way to support me during my stay with them. They arranged transport to the hospital and provided snacks and drinks on my return. I can't thank them enough for making me feel less stressed and safe during my stay.

Pretty intense calls to prayer from 0430 as Mataram (and Lombok) has mosques every few hundred metres but the hotel do provide ear plugs for customers should they wish.
