How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe most outstanding feature of this property is the location. It is close to the main station, major sights and some good restaurants and even a Supermarket! It is situated in a very quiet area with a nice park nearby. Communication was good from the manager, responses were prompt and photos on how to checkin were provided. We were permitted to check in early which was a blessing as we had disembarked from a river cruise at 8am. Thank you!! The central courtyard upon arrival added a very nice feel to the overall experience. Kitchen was well equipped.
Unfortunately the bathroom in our apartment was extremely small.....hitting your knees on the washing mashing whilst on the toilet was unavoidable! The water pressure in the shower was poor. The area outside our door ( within the courtyard ) was littered with cigarette butts and ash. The stairs to the above level - bedroom - were quite steep and required complete concentration, especially when descending. The pillows on our bed were more the size of cushions. and a loud sudden/unexpected banging noise coming from the electrical breaker board in the middle of the night was quite unnerving.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent, close to sights, public transport and restaurants, yet quiet. The place was cool despite the heat outside, even without air-conditioning on. Nice arty decor and a bit quirky
Some instructions on how things worked would have been helpful eg safe, aircon, Nespresso machine. Some of the stuff inside is a bit worn and tired looking. No sofa or easy chair to sit on. A very flimsy curtain which lets in light. It was fine for me travelling solo but the open toilet area between bedroom and kitchen may be uncomfortable for some.

Verified reviewGreat place right in the heart of Budapest. The apartment is clean, modern and the space very well thought out, so it feels very spacious. It was a delight to have all appliances in good working order (washing machine, toaster, stove etc), clean towels, shampoo and all the little luxuries of life. Highly recommend this place as a great place to explore Budapest.

Verified reviewComfy good size apartment in a great location, with a washing machine
Bedroom and lounge area are up very steep stairs, though there is a hand rail. Definitely doesn’t suit anyone with mobility issues

Verified reviewThe apartment was very good, comfortable, clean and spacious. Location was great, close to the river with easy access to attractions and sites. Supermarket close by. There were many restaurants a short (5 min) walk away. Tibor was great at communicating about access and allowed and early checkin when our flight arrived in the morning. He also offered to hold our luggage if he couldn't allow an earlier check in. Much appreciated.
The apartment was two levels and the stairs were difficult to navigate. The height of the steps were much bigger than usual making going up and down difficult and requiring effort to maintain balance. There was insufficient hand rail particularly for the two steps from the lower floor. The hand rail at the top was loose.

Steep stairs to bedroom.

Verified reviewLocation was unbeatable, just around the corner from the Parliament and other major sites. The property was very well maintained and had all the mod cons - even a washing machine. Nice and quiet. Lovely artwork on the walls. Super comfy bed!
The bathroom was pretty squeezy, especially if you are really tall, and the mezzanine level is accessible by quite steep concrete stairs without a balustrade, so wouldn’t be suitable for someone with mobility issues. Having said that, I would definitely stay again!

Verified reviewLocation is great. Many sights are within easy walking distance. Despite being very central the area is very quiet, particularly within the building, where there are rules about noise late at night. We enjoyed sitting outside in the courtyard. The bed is very comfortable. The cupboard space was sufficient and ingeniously designed. The property was clean. The umbrella provided turned out to be very useful! The neighbours were very friendly. The host Tibor was very good with communication and helped with a late checkout.
We had an initial problem with towels but the host Tibor resolved it straight away. The main problem was the stairs to the mezzanine sleeping area. They are very steep with a large distance between steps. There is a metal bar supporting the mezzanine running across the stairs which you can bang your head on if not careful. They are not suitable for anyone infirm and someone very tall would find it difficult. Also not suitable for sleepwalkers! The chairs were OK but there was nowhere really comfortable to relax in.

Verified reviewIt was in a great location. I loved having a mini fridge and the bathroom water was nice and hot. I didn't need air con even though it was 75 out. The court yard was pretty. Getting into the doors was easy too.
The mattress could have been a little better. Netflix was not available so I had to have them "fix" it which they did but after one episode... It kicked me off Netflix again (not their fault). The stairs were scary and a little difficult to get down. The steps are steep and no hand rail on one side. If you have any mobility issues... I would reconsider this particular studio. Lastly, I know I wrote a lot in this section but I loved my stay and would stay again.
