How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay at this hotel! What stood out the most was the amazing service — the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The location was perfect, close to everything I needed, and having private parking was a huge plus. The facilities were spotless, very well maintained, and the breakfasts were absolutely fabulous. This place truly exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Verified reviewVery nice place, well build and maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bedroom was very spacious and had everything you need, including a safe, air conditioning, ventilator and hair dryer. The bathroom was well equipped as well with a nice spacious walk in shower.
Due to the hectic Easter weekend we had a little difficult start with the reservation and payment but we were able to solve everything once we met Howard face to face.

When we arrived we realised the room we'd booked was on the road so we paid a little more and got a room that was not road frontage - highly suggest this and well worth the upgrade. Large room, well serviced. Super friendly staff and breakfast in the morning sun on the terrace was outstanding. Thank you

Verified reviewMy stay at Terramaya was exceptional. The room was in great shape; good water pressure, hot water, nice mattress, night stand with light and an outlet to charge my gadgets. The staff was helpful and friendly. The owner, Angela, was present in the mornings making sure everything was going well, asking if I needed anything. I left on a 6am bus. Since I left early The staff made sure I had some food to take with me. I highly recommend this place.

Verified reviewThe place is just incredible. Every morning you have a healthy breakfast on the terrace with different options. The rooms are incredible. My room had the balcony with the hammock that you could rest and listen to the city. There was a hydro bath that was incredible to relax in too. The owner of the hotel was so knowledge and helpful with places to visit in Copan Ruins and how to get around the city . Just an incredible place to go to so you can see Copan Ruins and get away from the world!!!!!!!!!!!!

Verified reviewI had a very comfortable stay here for two nights. The staff were lovely and the hosts exceptionally responsive and helpful with information and helping me to arrange onward travel. Delicious breakfast. Close to the Copan ruins as well as the lovely central square of the town. It was great to get back to my room after a long day at the archaeological site.

Verified reviewTerramaya was our base while viewing Copan ruins and the surrounding area and it was one of the best hotels of our holiday. Rooms are very traditional but extremely comfortable and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Lots of space in the room and we had a large balcony overlooking the garden and valley. Well equipped with tv, safe, daily filtered water, great shower and nice fluffy towels. Breakfast the best of our trip with fresh fruit, and choice of eggs or pancakes, juice, bread, and coffee. Helpful reception who sorted out a good deal for onward transportation.
It is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as it’s location five minutes down a steep hill from the central square requires a reasonable degree of fitness. However, we were very happy with the location on a quiet street.
