How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewMy room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Location was great, there's a beach with sunbeds right in front too! And guests get a 20% discount at the restaurant. Very easy to organise transport to and from the airport and ferry terminal :)

Verified reviewThe location in West End was great. Just a short walk to everything. The staff was helpful and pleasant.
Not a value for the price - two nights for $263 ?? A good price would have been $100 at the most. Shower didn't work, just dribbles of water. No microwave, a minimum need. Basically, two beds, a small table and two chairs (from the porch area). It should have been better described in the booking.com ad. Only one photo of the building from across the beach. Too many surprises when we got there.

Verified reviewAwesome location on the beach, but there is no private beach and the boats dock infront of hotel so not that great for swimming. Also arranging a taxi to airport is difficult as I could not go the hour requested and had to go an hour earlier, they can’t call another taxi. Hotel is dated and cats are around and come into your room

Verified reviewThe location was great, it was centrally located to many restaurants and right across the street from the beach. The Wifi was strong and reliable. The rooms were clean and the whole property had lush tropical vegetation which was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
There was not any breakfast at this hotel but, there were several nearby restaurants. I was a solo traveler and I would say the biggest issue was that the door curtains do not go the whole way to the top of the window and I did have someone looking in the window while I was in bed. I was a bit concerning so I improvised to block the rest of the window after that. My room did not include a kitchenette, just a small refrigerator. A coffee maker would have been nice. I also did not have a hammock,which I was looking forward to, so that was disappointing.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent, close to all the West End bars and restaurants. Nice beach over the road from the hotel with sun beds available.
Bathrooms were dreadful. Showers barely functioned, smelly, mould on walls, so many mosquitos. Paths around the grounds of the hotel were muddy with pools of water.

Verified reviewThe staff were fantastic. They were very friendly and helpful: they answered all our questions and quick to jumpstart our car battery. The apt was very spacious for 2 people. The location is excellent: the beach is right across the road, a grocery store right next door, a sports bar 16 steps away, and restaurants and shops plentiful. Nice snorkeling in Half Moon Bay.
The kitchen and bathroom have everything but are a little tired.

Verified reviewBest location on the West End, in our opinion! 1 minute to the beach where sunbeds and parasols are available. Restaurant right next door that belongs to the hotel. The room is simple and there is AC and a fridge.
That said, the room is simple. Bad pressure in the shower and the faucet in the sink would need to be descaled. Also missing a little more storage for clothes, there were only a few hangers. The rest of the clothes had to remain in the entry bag

Verified reviewBeautiful jungle decor, location was great. Room was very clean and out of the two beds, one was comfortable.
This property would be great if it provided filtered water, toiletries, as advertised (only soap was provided) and checked all beds to see that they were upgraded. The single bed in our room had those springs that you can feel as soon as you touch the bed. The plumbing needs to be redone because it gurgles in the showerhead is completely calcified. It’s 60% a nice hotel, and 40% a very basic one. The pricing is for a nice hotel though.

2 bowls, 2 spoons etc for 3 people. Not 2 bedroom as advertised but bed in living area. Far too many cats who seemed to want to live in our room, bad for wildlife. Bad smell like sewage outside. Not providing any drinking water free, place was expensive, would expect at least some water.

Verified reviewThe balcony setups were cute, the air conditioning worked well and the room was cleaned daily. The staff were friendly. The location was great.
The beach chairs were worn out and there are not enough places to store things in the room and bathroom. For a short stay, this might not be an issue. .
