How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNear the old town but not recommended to walk around after dark. They have a nice swimming pool and it is a nice place in this part of the town
hot water was not working in the shower

Verified reviewIn spite of being so close to the old town, the noise levels at night were very mild. The clerk helped me with my 3:30 AM taxi in spite or maybe because of my unacceptable Spanish even though they don't advertise this service. She tried several companies until she found one who would come that early.
There is no AC. The fan was a very good one and the room did not heat up at night. I had gotten sick in Nicaragua, had a miserable stomach, and was especially sensitive to this at the time, so not the hotels fault, necessarily.
We appreciate your opinion! Thank you for your advice we will advertise about not English at nigth time in reception.

Verified reviewThe hotel was a reasonable value. The breakfast was very good, my room was clean, and the front desk personnel were nice and helpful. Not much English was spoken, but they were patient with my Spanish. I liked the short walk to the center, and it was convenient to have a supermercado within about three blocks.
Hanging space for clothes was tiny, there is no flat surface in the bathroom for toiletries, and, while there was a decent desk, there were no electrical outlets near it. My biggest complaint was noise -- especially the barking dogs during the day and frequently at night.
Your opinion is very valuable, and we appreciate it. Little by little, we are improving our rooms, including their windows which will reduce the noise from outside; with is beyond our control.

Verified reviewNumber one thing about this hotel is it's a very clean hotel! We even kept food in the room and still never saw one bug. For a hotel in Honduras, that's impressive. Me, my husband, and three little ones loved it. This is a very family-friendly hotel with a lot of open spaces around the lobby and courtyard, and has a very nice pool with a place to change right next to it. Misson groups or a large families would love this. There's so much space in the lobby or courtyard to sit and talk and eat together. You can buy snacks and drinks anytime at the front desk. There's a microwave in the lobby as well you can use. Breakfast was decent. Rooms clean and everything worked (they have a lot of electrical sockets around the room. Better than what I've had in American hotels). I think it's only stairs to the rooms, but I didn't check if there was an elevator somewhere out of view. We were on the second floor more toward the middle of the building which made the wifi strong in our room and made the city noise less. We didn't have air conditioning but the room still stayed cool with open windows and a fan. They provided laundry service at a very affordable price. The location was great for exploring. We only went out in the morning and early afternoon, and it felt pretty safe the whole time. For the price, I think this place is great and will stay here again if I have to be in Teguc overnight. I plan on endorsing it to my family and friends if they ever need a place in Teguc. And also, we unexpectedly had to stay longer so we tried a different room closer to the road that had a tiny balcony. It was more spacious and part of the view from the balcony was pretty showing the top of a historical church. Being closer to the road, city noise was a lot louder and the wifi was weaker. Noise doesn't bother my family at all, but the wifi being weaker was a bit of a bummer. Also, this room did have air conditioning but you really need it.
The beds were average and the pillows were ok but I'm glad I brought my own pillow. Breakfast was cold a couple of times so I used the microwave in the lobby to warm it up. I still enjoyed it. Sometimes you have to run the shower water for awhile to get it hot. And again, if you get a room right up against the main road, the city noise will be louder and the wifi may be weaker.
We appreciate your opinion and we will work on it.
