From La Ceiba this is an accessible location for hiking and rafting in Pico Bonito National Park. It’s easily reached by bus, although it’s good to be aware that the bus “schedule” is somewhat fluid. Once you arrive, you can be as active or sedentary as you like. Rafting and guided hiking are easily arranged for an extra charge. The lodge serves all three meals (not included in your room rate). Dinners are family style (the vegetarian option is always good), and the meal prices are reasonable considering the effort needed to bring in supplies. There’s also a bar. You can run a tab while you’re there and pay for all meals, drinks and activities with cash or credit card at the end of your stay. The lodge ambiance is rustic. My room was large and basic with a hot water shower and a very large shared balcony. With the help of a floor fan the room stayed reasonably cool despite the scorching daytime temperatures in early April. The lodge's common area has a great view and is a natural gathering point. It’s also where meals are served and is the best place to get online. Internet is iffy to non-existent in the rooms. The owner and staff are really nice and are very helpful in arranging activities and providing information about your onward travel plans.

    Best stay in Central America!

    Nothing!

This place is probably one of my best stays I have ever had. We expected rough conditions in the jungle, but this place has everything or actually much more than you need. The views are incredible! The activities are amazing and well arranged by the lodge (hiking and rafting). The food is the best, and for a very good price! For some reason some reviews talk about high prices, but compared to other places in Central America they are very affordable, especially if you take into account that this place is very secluded in nature. They even have fast WiFi! The best things about the place are definitely the home parrot and the natural swimming pools. You can do some cliff jumping at any moment! Another thing: book the hiking tour with their guide. The tour is not cheap, especially if you see that you can do the hike on your own for a small fee. But this is not the same hike, with the guide we did a much nicer hike with some real jungle experiences and much better views on the waterfall! Could recommend it!

Food was expensive for the region. Wish they had more local food.

Incredible location overlooking the river and great open common area where people mingle. This place is magical! Short walk to Pico Bonito National Park trial. Resident dogs and macaw. Good dinners.

Absolutely stunning spot, greenery, jungle, and majestic water flowing by. Lovely staff Miguel who took care of us, kitchen staff provided wonderful meals. We did Hike in Pico Bonito National Park and arranged for White Water rafting trip through the hotel. Local parrot who kept us entertained, cute little hotel bar, and Honduran chocolate factory just a short walk away. We would recommend this hotel.

The road to the lodge is in a bad state. I had rental sedan car and managed but had to drive really slowly.

The river rafting was excellent with great rapids and beautiful forest setting. The lodge is in a beautiful location on the edge of Pico Bonito National Park. The food was great. Staff super friendly.

Just realize that its pretty remote from town, so limited options for food etc.

Little bit off the beaten path in all the good ways. Easy access, little community around and the river and its surroundings will take your breath away. Run by travellers of the world. Highly recommended.

The views from the Lodge are spectacular, the pools for swimming are clean with continually flowing water. I also enjoyed swimming in the river. The food was good and a fair price. I recommend the hike to the waterfall. A relaxing spot to stay a few days with helpful friendly staff

What a beautiful sacred space out in nature. I loved the home cooked meals, and they were right within my travel budget of around 10$ per meal. The location is breathtaking. Photos on the website don't even do the place justice! Its very beautiful, serene and scenic, a great place for a quiet retreat to just meditate and take it all in. There is a national park nearby that the hostel offers a guided hike for. They also offer white water rafting which I would highly recommend. The blue natural pools beneath the balcony to the place are a very nice touch to an already magical retreat. The owner was amazing, and all the staff were friendly helpful and accommodating. You must go experience this place.

Kathy was amazing. She was very accommodating and helpful. A true down to earth amazing lady! Would recommend staying here. We stayed in a private room and loved it. The family dinners are also delicious and the entire place is on the river with a great view. Definitely book canyoning/ white water rafting.

Food is expensive, but extremely tasty! There’s no kitchen, so bring what you can from La Ceiba before you arrive. But you’re not really paying for the food, you’re paying for the atmosphere!!!

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a hostel! The environment is EPIC - you are inside a canyon, next to a river, with private diving spots and natural pools. The communal dinners with the other backpackers are super nice, the hike in Pico Bonito is bonito bonito, and the rafting is super fun but you can get it much cheaper literally right next door. The owner is so sweet and stays present with everyone :) Everything here is truly paradise on Earth!!!

Through no fault of theirs, there was no power so we didn't stay there but still were charged for one night. It would have been nice if they had a generator or some solar for back up. It was very hot with no fans working. No internet or signal for phones so we were basiclly stuck there for like 6 hours until a cab came down the road. The staff, if you could find them, tried to help but couldn't mix a drink, only open a beer, they were running out of food and ice and we were getting hot and frustrated with everything, especially finding the staff when wanting a warm beer. We really needed a nap and the rooms were too hot with no fans, the hammocks were nice but the dogs and macaw kept barking at every moto going down the road so no rest for the weary.

The views were amazing, everything Mother Nature did was on point. But I don't think I would stay there overnight, just stop for a beer and the views. We did shower since it was so hot and there was good water pressure.
