How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewThe female only room was spotless, with comfortable beds and lots of place to put your suitcases. I loved having access to a good hairdryer and Dyson styler. There is a little fridge where I could leave a coffee for the mornings and enjoy a complementary beer. The staff were responsive and helpful.
I stayed for 3 nights and had disruptive guests each night, from coming home at 4am drunk and switching lights on, to talking at midnight and just being generally disruptive during quiet hours. I did contact staff regarding this, and they were proactive in reminding everyone of the quiet hours. In hostels, it really is the luck of the draw whether the other guest are respectful of these rules or not.

Verified reviewIt was clean and they are super chill. So it feels like you’re staying over at a friends house. It’s really cool and artsy. I loved it. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Location was good. As vegans though it was not as easy to find a place near to eat. But it was all in all super great stay.

Verified reviewThe staff was super friendly and welcoming! They host and invited us to join events and help coordinate dinner/meet ups! The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated all the facilities (water station, extra sink/mirror, hang out space, etc.) Overall it was a great stay!
Would be nice if curtains covered entire bed, but still had no issues sleeping. I also saw some small ants, but again they were not a big problem!

Verified reviewLocation is pretty good, and you can find numerous local restaurants nearby. The owner is quite helpful and warm. The female dorm has a unique and stylish design and I really love the slogans painted on the wall. Overall it is quite a memorable experience.
The room's cleanliness was unsatisfactory, as the bathroom drain was clogged, and the bed linens seem not clean. I woke up with multiple bites on both legs. At first, I thought they were mosquito bites, but after checking out and researching similar reviews online, I strongly suspect bed bugs or other pests. I sincerely hope the hostel takes immediate action to address these hygiene issues for the safety and comfort of future guests.

Verified reviewthe host is very friendly and helpfull! eventhough i messed up my booking, she arranged an extra night last minute.
Apparently it was low season so not so many people there and despite the great (hot) rooftop, there isn't really a communal space to easily meet others. I was in a private room though, so maybe it is different in the dorms. The host did also really make an effort in introducing people and making evrybody feel welcome

the check in process was confusing and unnecessary. the hostel doesnt have a reception and everything was conducted through a ring doorbell which feels quite impersonal and dystopian. i'm not sure what the benefit is, as someone had to come out and help me find my key card anyway.

It was a bit strange that there was no lock on the bathroom or shower doors. It thankfully wasn’t a problem, but as there were 5 people sharing a room, I would have preferred being able to lock it.

Verified reviewThe all female dorm felt safe, secure and clean. The decor was unique and interesting, and the rooftop was a nice place to relax. Patricia is great with communication, and quick to respond to enquires during your travels.
The hostel is a little difficult to find but Patricia provides instructions through WhatsApp for access.

Verified reviewA really unique hostel; in an apartment complex that spans around 2-3 floors. Incredible location with each of the bedrooms decorated in their own unique way; even the bathroom and common rooms. The social room is a studio with lots of arcade machines, vinyls, books, comics, darts with live music also being played on some days; I sadly missed this! Close to markets and an array of cafes and restaurants of all sorts of cuisines.
Had a top bunk which was uncomfortable as they are very high up.
