Would be nice if curtains covered entire bed, but still had no issues sleeping. I also saw some small ants, but again they were not a big problem!

The staff was super friendly and welcoming! They host and invited us to join events and help coordinate dinner/meet ups! The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated all the facilities (water station, extra sink/mirror, hang out space, etc.) Overall it was a great stay!

Apparently it was low season so not so many people there and despite the great (hot) rooftop, there isn't really a communal space to easily meet others. I was in a private room though, so maybe it is different in the dorms. The host did also really make an effort in introducing people and making evrybody feel welcome

The hostel is a little difficult to find but Patricia provides instructions through WhatsApp for access.

The all female dorm felt safe, secure and clean. The decor was unique and interesting, and the rooftop was a nice place to relax. Patricia is great with communication, and quick to respond to enquires during your travels.

Had a top bunk which was uncomfortable as they are very high up.

A really unique hostel; in an apartment complex that spans around 2-3 floors. Incredible location with each of the bedrooms decorated in their own unique way; even the bathroom and common rooms. The social room is a studio with lots of arcade machines, vinyls, books, comics, darts with live music also being played on some days; I sadly missed this! Close to markets and an array of cafes and restaurants of all sorts of cuisines.

It is so authentic, comfortable and very cozy! They have all amenities that you need (I was so shocked they have dyson as a dryer). Also, the location is very good! I liked my stay and I’d love to stay here again. The staff is amazing. My flight got delayed and I arrived really late, I was so worried that I couldn’t check in, but everything went smoothly. The kind lady helped me out via Whatsapp. Also, they have a great kitchen and rooftop is amazing! The pictures can’t justify how good it is. Just believe me! Recommend it.

I chose a top bunk which I didn't mind having to climb, but it was difficult climbing down. As long as you choose a bottom bunk you'll be fine. Wish there were more space in the bathroom to put your clothes/items while showering.

Rooms and beds were comfortable and clean. Didn't feel cramped even though you are sharing a room with 4-5 other people. Plenty of available amenities in case you forget to bring something. Common space/patio was relaxing.

Wontonmeen is maybe best hostel experience I've ever had. A magical place from which doors keep opening into another chamber of wonders of the building - and Hong Kong. It’s an adventurous place. Suddenly one floor down you discover another lounge and kitchen and gaming tables and screens, books and exciting art and then down another flight of stairs a place where live music is played sometimes and movies (can) be shown. The owner, Patricia, spontaneously invites you to go on little hikes in the morning via the WhatsApp group, she takes you to hidden places you would never discover on your own. Patricia is an interior designer and the mixed bedroom is very special, with clever gadgets and details. Each guest can create their own private bunk in the structure, with covers, brackets, lamp, you have cables and charging boxes. You can have earplugs, but in my case there was no need for them, everyone of the others was very respectful. It’s a very social place, but not meant as a party hostel. The elevator takes you up to the roof terrace from where you have a fantastic view of Kowloon. On the road a 7/11 about 200 meters away, a lively area with stores and restaurants. The nearest metro station is about 10 minutes away, buses go up and down the street in front of the hostel.

Kinda pricey, this is mostly because Hong Kong is so expensive, so value for money is not great anywhere.

Staff was great and would include people in nightly activities, going to the rooftop or out together. Location is also in a ‘nice’ local part of Hong Kong. I would stay here again!

The best hostel experience you can get! Super nice location, surrounded by lots of great restaurants and it is bery easy to reach the center. I immediately met other travelers and we explored the city together! Emily, who works in the hostel, is extremely friendly and was hanging out with us as well. 100 percent recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is located 10 minutes from the metro station. A supermarket is just opposite of the accommodation. The booked room was relative spacious for Hong Kong.

-I arrived a bit early so my entire check in process was through whatsapp, and I felt like I didn't have all the information regarding amenities, what common spaces we could use etc. That being said, the host was super responsive and helpful if I ever had any questions. -As the other reviews say, it is a bit hard to find even if you are navigating there with Google maps. The host should send you a video explaining how to find it so be smarter than me and watch it before arriving!

-The dorm room was very comfortable and quiet despite being on a busy road. The bed had adequate privacy and ample, lockable storage to put my large backpack. Room was regularly cleaned. -There was a whatsapp group with other members of the hostel which made it really easy to connect with other guests -The location is great - walkable to all the Kowloon night markets and ~10 min walk to the nearest metro station which will take you anywhere in the city; Grocery store/convenience store across the street

- for this price towels should be provided - very unclear instructions for self check in. There is no big logo of the hostel on the entrance to the building (it only says “hostel”). The instructions should include pictures how to get inside, where to put codes and where to leave luggage before check in - the bathroom in the dorm room does not have a lock, so you just need to hope that nobody is going to enter when you are inside

- hot water in the shower - shampoo, shower gel and body lotion provided - comfortable bed with a lot of privacy - plugs and light by bed - rooftop - big lockers - very good and quiet hair dryer - very social hostel and helpful staff
