Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesAlmost everything, it's so hard to find the exact location of the hotel. I also feel like I got scammed because the one I booked was a private room with built in toilet, but when I arrived, the owner told me that is not what I booked even when I showed him the pictures and booking confirmation he insisted that is not the deal so I had to pay an extra 200HKD just to get a private room with toilet. The room isn't clean and the aircon was broken, the sheets don't look like they've been replaced and it really stinks. The place is also very small and it made me claustrophobic, I'm already a small person I'm 5'1" and the place felt so small and narrow for me. I hated my stay, It's a good think I only stayed for 1 night, but I could've gotten a much more better room somewhere else for the price. The staff were very very rude too! :(
I like that it's near the station so it's convenient to commute.

Singapore1. Extra small room with just 25-30sqft space. No space to keep even a single luggage inside room. 2. Shared bathroom was too small: I have never seen such small bathroom ever in my life. Hardly 10sqft. No space to take shower inside. You have to somehow adjust your feet to stand and take shower. Changing dress was super challenging.

IndiaI am writing to express my dissatisfaction and the numerous issues I faced during my recent stay at the Kowloon Youth Village Tsim Sha Tsui Hostel. I strongly advise against staying at this hostel based on my experience. Upon my arrival, I encountered an unprofessional and unpleasant staff member, whose name I unfortunately cannot recall. This individual acted in a manner that was both rude and deceitful. He cancelled my existing booking made via Booking.com and requested an additional HKD 290 to process a new booking. His justification was that I arrived at the hostel at 14:00, while according to him, the booking time was from 19:00 to 09:00. Furthermore, he insisted that I pay a HKD 10 "Hong Kong tax." Reluctantly, I complied and paid the amount, only to be forced to book a new room at the same hostel. The room itself was extremely small, narrow, and poorly maintained. The bathroom was even more concerning: the door was so narrow that I could not fit through it. Additionally, the room was dimly lit and emitted an unpleasant odor, making the overall experience uncomfortable. Upon reviewing the hostel’s guest guidelines, I discovered that the official check-in time was 19:00, and the checkout time was 09:00. The guidelines also stated that if guests wished to store their luggage, an additional fee of HKD 30 would apply for 12 hours (until midnight), or HKD 50 for a full day. This policy was not clearly communicated at the time of my arrival. In total, I not only lost the money I paid for my original Booking.com reservation, but I also had to pay an additional HKD 290 plus a HKD 10 tax. To make matters worse, when I requested an invoice or receipt at checkout, the staff member denied my request, claiming they do not provide invoices for bookings. It is disheartening to experience such a lack of professionalism, especially when relying on a trusted platform like Booking.com. I am left wondering why Booking.

PhilippinesIt's dirty, and the owner is a scammer. Paid 2k HKD upon booking with the idea that it will have separate beds, working hot and cold shower, basic toiletries provided. Lo and behold, we were charged an additional 800HKD to be able to check in around 2pm (standard was 7pm apparently WTF), and private bathrooms???? Everything listed was exactly the opposite!!! Worse is, still no towels provided, beddings were just a 2inch foam on a plywood. The ambience was similar to a prison cell.

United StatesNot clean at all, owner is rude and yells and does not listen at all. There is a deposit that has to be paid when you check-in that is not mentioned anywhere. This is essentially a scam in the grand scheme of things to get you to give your money. There is an extra charge for dropping off luggage early, earlier check in than the one they give which is so late at 7 PM. The dorm room is really small; bathroom is unusable. The elevator to get to this place takes forever; I thought it was a cheap deal, but not worth the chaos and bad conditions.

CanadaI had a very frustrating experience with my stay at this property booked through Booking.com. The room I received was nothing like the one shown in the description. Upon check-in, I was informed that the toilet was locked and I would have to pay an additional 60-80 CAD to have it unlocked. This was not mentioned at all during booking. To make matters worse, if you lose the key they charge a steep 100 dollars. The lack of privacy was alarming as well – the owner came into my room twice without any prior notice or explanation. I was only staying one night, and I felt more like I was in a jail than a hotel. The room itself was dirty, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the space and insects all over the place. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It's misleading, uncomfortable, and lacks basic respect for guests' privacy. I will not be returning, and I advise others to be cautious when booking here.

FijiThe hostel's accommodation left much to be desired. The mixed dormitory, where I opted for what was described as a 'Futon bed', turned out to be a massage bed—too small and far from comfortable for a good night's sleep. The cleanliness of the rooms was also a concern, as they appeared not to be regularly cleaned. Upon arrival, I was provided with damp and unclean pillows and sheets, and despite requests, it took two days to receive new ones. Additionally, the issue of pests, specifically mice, was quite unsettling. Lastly, the lack of proper ventilation, with only one fan for a six-person room, made the summer humidity nearly unbearable.
The location of the property is quite central. So ease of access to MTR, parks, restaurants, shopping malls and attractions.
