How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was a nice dormitory when I stayed there six months ago.
This dormitory has already closed. On the day of check-in, I went to the reception but there was no one there, so I asked a staff member at another dormitory and was told that it had gone out of business. I only received an automated message and couldn't get through when I called. On the first day of my reservation, I arrived late and ended up sleeping outside.

Verified reviewIn terms of where you are in the city, the location is good, near many restaurants and the temple street, but it’s not exactly easy to find if you don’t speak chinese. The building has been painted a different color, i think it’s white now, while in the pictures it’s red.
The place is, honestly, filthy. The building itself is very dirty in all common areas. There were multiple cocaroches in the room. The toilet is disgusting, and the shower (which has no hot water) is on top of it, so the toilet seat is always wet. There was no toilet paper in two moments. And when there was any, it was always very little. I dont understand why they couldn’t just put an entire roll of toilet paper there. The beds are uncomfortable and have no curtains, so no privacy. It makes sense that it is one of the cheapest options in the city. If you can afford to pay more, don’t stay here. Also the pictures make it look better than it is for some reason (even the ones I uploaded, I believe)

Verified reviewIt's close to the station.
Bed bugs. Small cockroaches, running around in the room, on the floor, between the bags. The place is super small, a room that would feel already a bit small for 4 people is arranged to host 6 people, on 2 triple bunk beds. And I was on the very top one, which is literally at 10 centimeters from the ceiling: it was impossible to sit on the bed and even to turn comfortably was difficult, for how close the ceiling is from the mattress. Probably in my personal top 3 of the worst hostel I've ever been, and I traveled quite a bit between Asia, America and Europe, and I'm not a traveler with a snotty nose.

Verified reviewOne of the places I like stay when I visit HK, for location, and ease of stay. Quiet at night and direct bus to and from airport.
The owner should be around or check the rooms (such as the one I stayed in) for any maintenance needed. Because it's not the employees responsibility to fix air conditioning or broken fixtures. Or things left unfixed. They will have to deal with unhappy guests or bad reviews. My room was fine but needed some maintenance and I would have preferred another room if one had been available.

Verified reviewA great location, room is of course very cramped but to be expected. Given it’s the cheapest place I could find in HK I think it’s fine!
The bathroom door lock was just using a band to keep it shut and not a proper lock which could be improved For some reason a review was written for this hostel already by my account apparently giving it a 10/10 which I did not write, not sure how that happened

Verified reviewThe property is located in old building, easy to access and a short walk to the nearest station. The property is clean and well styled, the beds and pillows were so soft it felt like we were sleeping on a cloud! There is a 711 about a minute walk too. The host is wonderful!! Super friendly and helped us with our directions to navigate the train lines when we landed. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!! 😊😊

Verified reviewThe place was clean and very comfortable. The rooms had a good artistic touch and the owner prepared some super helpful local travel guide in the lobby. There were also some household appliances for cooking. The apartment was in a quiet neighborhood with convenience stores and several restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Walking toward the Stations we were able to find all kinds of shops and restaurants, some opened until late night, very convenient after a long day traveling around. Host was very accommodating and replied quickly whenever we needed something also was fluent in English and the communication was smooth.

Verified reviewThe perfect hostel, wish there were options like this all around the world! Comfortable pods, everything was clean, lockers weren't big enough for big suitcases/bag. Very quiet, not the kind of place to have loads of fun with other travellers, but ideal for solo travellers wanting an affordable and chill stay. Ideal location too, right next to Jordan station with easy access to central and some tourist spots

Verified reviewI was absolutely taken aback by the cleanliness and presentation for only 100HKD per night. Perfect for the solo traveller, everything you need is supplied. A cosy common room/eating area, and slippers are provided. The sleeping pod was spacious enough and had a charging ports and light in it. Excellent!

Verified reviewThe staff are really friendly, they waited for me to arrive very late which was very kind of them. The dorms are nice, there's a sofa, oven, free water, boiling water, and fridge inside. There are plenty of amenities like most hostels in Hong Kong. The location is brilliant just 5 minutes from the metro directly to the centre, but the actual area is kinda quiet and there's 7 eleven 1 minute away walking.

Verified reviewIt is in the middle between two downtown metro stations.
The instructions about checking in and location were not well communicated. It took some time to get to the check-in spot. The room was not quite cleaned. I found 2 cockroaches in the bathroom and right on my staying bed head board. The hot water was malfunctioning during my stay.

Verified reviewThe location is very convenient; minutes from the subway and many supermarkets, convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The lady at the check in was very friendly.
Really dirty and no respect of sleeping hours. The room I was in seemed to have served as a bathroom to other rooms as well. Thus, the door was open and people were going in and out and showering until ca. 2am. Squeaky metal frame bunk beds with 3 layers. Cockroaches on the wall and in the toilet.

Verified reviewThe staff were always so helpful and it felt very safe. There’s a convenience store a couple doors down so you can buy food and eat it in the lounge area near reception at any time. The room was comfortable and cleaned everyday. The location is right near the tourist spot and there is an airport bus stop right around the corner from the hotel. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
