How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLocation and staff interaction, they are friendly easy to discuss stuff they are not rude. However, the "guard", attendant from the lobby is quite rude to us! No consideration at all, my family was leaving/checking out at 5 am to catch an early flight, and it was heavily raining outside, we are just organizing our stuff, with no plans of hanging in the area longer as we are aiming to catch a bus, he started speaking in Chinese, which we do not understand at all shoving us away!
Clean issues, there is a 'not clean' smell of linens, pillows, and beddings which compensates with the price, weak aircon for me, not cool enough. Noise by other guests, though this is not the property's fault. Unfortunately, it was not allowed to take photos to show evidence of our stay.

Verified reviewI paid over 100 hkd for a room in a dorm but didn't get to stay. I admittedly arrived late and contacted the hostel right away when my delayed flight landed and received no response. Got to hostel before the last check in time but was unable to locate the hostel and had received no communication from the hostel so I left because I was a solo female traveller and exhausted. After I arrived at the new location they hounded me with messaged and aggressively. Apparently staff are available to check in until 1am because that's when they were messaging me till.

Verified reviewThe biggest advantage of this accommodation is its location. The MRT is within 200m and the late-night bus to the airport is about 50m away.
This accommodation does not have a shoe rack, so the room smells really bad. I have a headache and it is hard for me to rest

I booked a bed in 6 female beds, and the toilets were only 2. In the floor it was only 2 toilets with 2 showers all together. Even if you wanna wash your hand you should have been in to the shower. Very very dirty toilets. 80 euro for 2 nights for a hostel is a lot.

I have been traveling for 20 years. This is absolutely the worse hostel experience i have ever had. This place is disgusting. Everything is dirty. Everything. Old building with mold. Dirty bathrooms. The sleeping cubes are dirty with hair. The pictures are false. Doesn't look like that at all. Trash is piled up even in the outdoor deck. There is stuff everywhere in the lobby. You can't even sit in the lobby. People check in in the middle.of the night and make a lot of noise. I stayed for 2 days and left at 6am the second day because I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Sitting at the train was better than being in this very dirty hostel. It made my skin crawl.

1. firstly it's not a hostel from any angle because in Hostel people have common area to sit and talk and have a lot of conversation whereas it was lacking here 2. overall cleanliness of dormitory was fine however the entry to the hostel is in a building and it's completely dirty 3. guess staying in the hospital for longer period we're not great in terms of behavior as well

Verified review1. location. right on the waterfront, close to the central metro station and many buses, including to the airport. 2. Staff. Very nice guy from Morocco with perfect English 3. convenience. Don't expect much, this is budget accommodation, but there is a place to boil water and boil eggs. Although the bed is small, the three of us fit in with a small child. Lift is not busy at all, because building is small. Total - this hostel is a very good option in this budget
