Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLift: Bit too dark and cold Staff : 1) Cleaning Lady in the female changing room was quite rude , she grabbed my towel ( while I was trying to look for a place to discards my towel) , she showed lots of anger while she was cleaning the floor. In UK/ Japan, people will greet and say hi to the customer. Check in : Lady at the reception could be more polite, she was very annoyed when I asked her some questions about my credit card Dine in / room service : the gentleman rushed into my room and left in a bad mood , all I said was ' thank you ' I felt quite a lot of staffs in the hotel need to work on communication skills, it is a shame as the hotel was beautiful and posh . we are there to relax hence will be nice to have a polite , friendly vibe .
Breakfast : nice variety ; food was a bit dry ( mainly in the chinese section ) Room : excellent and posh design , clean , very envt friendly Pool : nice view , water was clean , good opening hour

A fantastic hotel to stay in not far from resturants and station. A great free mini bar that gets topped up every day. Good comfortable beds. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The pool area is good as well. Also there is a room to relax if you get there early for you to have a coffee and rest up. The breakfast spread was amazing and lots of good quality and options. Its was expensive but I would pay the price.

JapanThe slippers are thin and fragile. At check-out, only one female staff member acted in a way that made me feel uncomfortable. Other than that, there were no problems. She was not a front desk staff member.
There weren't many choices for breakfast, but the food was delicious. I was happy that drinks in the room were free.

KuwaitThe lobby seating arrangement , very few sofas as we couldn’t find a place to sit while waiting for a taxi but thats not a real issue
The hotel itself is modern and the view was awesome, the room was spacious and comfortable. The area is nice but was not what i was looking for but yet very easy to reach anywhere by walking or a short taxi ride. It is not something that really bothered me as i still enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was good with fare selection of cuisines. The staff were really helpful and nice and smiling all the time.

Montenegro—
We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel ICON—it was the last of three hotels we tried in Hong Kong, and hands down, the best sleep I had on the entire trip (fellow Oura users will appreciate: I hit an 87 score!) We stayed in one of the luxury rooms on a high floor with lounge access, and I highly recommend it. The room offered a stunning panoramic view of the city skyline, and taking a bath while watching the night lights of Hong Kong was a memorable experience—worth every cent. Although the hotel isn’t brand new, you can clearly see the dedication of the team to maintain a high standard across the board. With our booking, we had access to two breakfast options: one in the executive lounge (quieter and more exclusive), and the other in the Market buffet, which was more lively and crowded but absolutely worth visiting for the variety and vibe. Another great perk: check-out options. We had a late-night flight, and being able to stay and relax after checking out in the lounge and pool zones, made a huge difference in our travel comfort. If you're looking for a mix of luxury, service, and unbeatable views, Hotel ICON is a fantastic choice. We'd return in a heartbeat.

United StatesSo the property has a magnificent view of Victoria, Harbor, and of the Hong Kong skyline. You are on the center of the Kowloon city area with all kinds of things to do and places to eat around you! It’s a few minutes walk to a fantastic science museum, especially for kids. If you stay at this hotel, definitely ask for the concierge named Nestor Chu. He’s a fantastic asset a really pleasant person and can provide a great history of both the hotel, it’s a giant living nature wall, and surrounding things to visit and see. He’s also a Lakers fan.
