Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThe only downside for me was the lack of a microwave (I can't always finish huge portions of food from restaurants). But 7-11 has them
the place was extremely compact but it was cool. they also have an exit to the roof.

United KingdomThe air con unit did not work properly, so the room did get very hot n stuffy at times. There was a TV in the room but this did not switch on. The wifi also was temperamental which cut off numerous times, and sometimes did not work whatsoever.
We booked comfort guesthouse but when checked in we were taken to a guesthouse of a different name in a different block in the building. From what I gather, they are part of the same group but would have been good to know this when booking. However, although the room was small it was in a good location and it was clean.

NetherlandsProblems with the shower, switching from dangerously hot to cold all the time. Wifi was unreliable and too slow for video calling friends.
Located in the heart of Kowloon, situated at the ninth floor of Chungking Mansion just around the corner of Victoria Harbour. Room was made every day and was very clean. The bed was comfortable.

AustraliaBuilding has a bit of a reputation and it's a bit chaotic on Ground Floor (also might be a culture shock to many). No sound proofing. You can hear all the rooms next door as they'll hear you. Window also very thin you'll hear and air conditioning units of other apartments running outside. Power outlets were intermittent, turning on and off randomly so you sometimes find your phone not charged. TV was not functional.
Close to harbour and all public transport. Very clean apartment despite being very tiny (but okay for Hong Kong). You'll obstruct the door when you open your luggage on the floor. Apartment behind security door plus room also has a lock, so very secure. Bed and pillows were decently comfortable. Very clean as there is a cleaner always attending to your room, but there one about 3 very small cockcroaches during my stay. They might need to do more pest treatment. Good hot water and decently clean shower area. Very easy communications with the property manager.

PhilippinesIt was just too tiring since we had to wait till 2pm for the check in. There was no available early check in so we had to wait long.
The rooms were kept clean everyday. For a budget hostel, it was exceptional. The rooms were as it was shown in the photos.

FrancePersonally my fridge didn't work but they agreed to change my room but it would be good in the future to replace it for the next customers
I recommend this accommodation for small budgets, it's a room only for sleeping don't expect much space, but it's clean and safe, the staff is very nice

PhilippinesSmall room… But it is what you expect for Hong Kong hostels
The staff are helpful, the room was small but very clean. The bed is comfortable, and there is a basic housekeeping and new towels every day. Also the location is close to train station and bus stops.

MalaysiaUnfortunately everything. First, there were cockroaches everywhere! The bed frame made of metal is not made for a family during a leisure trip. The water was either too hot or too cold, this is dangerous and children would've got scalded. The ceiling fan was so shaky, we were unable to get a good sleep and the children were afraid it might fall off. The price, pictures advertised do not justify our stay there. My whole family had to move to another hotel the next day because we can't imagine going back to stay the night after a full day out exploring HK. I'm disappointed to say that the landlady Kelly was pleasing to speak to but the experience we had was otherwise.

UkraineGiven that with the budget of $100 for two nights in HK you can have either a bed in the dormitory or a separate room offered by this accommodation - a separate bed in a separate room with no neighbors was all I needed. It corresponded to the description - the room and the bathroom are rather small - yet again given the budget and HK prices, that was more than enough. They send you the detailed description of how to get from the airport, the location is very good, and the overall experience is rather authentic. I was visiting HK for a concert, and a quiet place after an extremely busy weekend was all I needed
