How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNothing.
The front desk was empty at 4 am with front door locked for hours when I had a tour booked and missed it because of them. No water for almost 8 hours

Verified reviewRoom was okay, good closet space and the TV, fan and blackout curtains were nice. The bed a bit small but comfortable enough. Shared kitchen was nice and the pool area pretty.
Not a social hostel at all, some groups of mostly rude people were there but there was zero vibe here. The pool area and bar are operated separately, they have weird opening times and sell day passes, so don't be surprised to see families around the pool. Music played by the pool was bad, but I guess that is separate from the hostel. The shared bathrooms have a lot of room for improvement. Toilets are not separated so during my stay there were men that left the toilets dirty and the toilet seats up. Shower water pressure was low, only one of the showers had soap and the shower curtains looked like they could fall down any minute since the rods are not attached. Although I saw the cleaning staff working hard, the other hostel staff was not hospitable at all. Although everywhere around the hostel there are notes stating to be quiet after 10pm, it was the hostel staff itself that was loudly having a phone conversation in the hallway after quiet hours. The doorbell that is used in the evening hours for when the gates are closed can be heard in the bedrooms, seems a bit weird to bother all of the guests with the loud sound of a doorbell when people come in after a night partying at 2AM. Reception staff could definitely use a lesson in hospitality.

Verified reviewFree coffee on the morning, the garden on the back is really nice with a swimming pool and bar. It was cool to have an area to workout with pull-up bars and gymnastic rings. Perfect for taking some sun on the morning. Staff was nice and visitors had a good vibe.
It's a bit far away.

Verified reviewVery clean bathrooms and toilets, the pool
Very hot room, only a fan that couldn’t move, only blow. A lot of young people who come to say the same as the name of the hotel. I booked it because of the pool, I had to pay loads extra up to $42! The staff kept saying: see the policy of Booking, it says that the hotel can add more expenses. They didn’t clarify what they were. Far too expensive for what they offered. Every one can hear everything on the (although real clean) toilets.
Hello Annemarie, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Regarding the “extra charges,” these are the standard 22% government taxes, clearly displayed on Booking.com before confirming any reservation. We understand it can feel unexpected if this detail was overlooked, but unfortunately, reading the booking information is the only way to avoid surprises—not something we can fix on our end. As for the atmosphere, our hostel is known for being lively and social, which many guests specifically look for. We’ll continue focusing on providing a clean, fun, and affordable experience for travelers who check all the details before hitting the “book now” button. 😉

Verified reviewVery very clean (bathrooms were cleaned multiple times a day). Decent location (aprox 15 minutes from main square). Friendly staff.
Lockers are questionable. The locker for my bed number was missing the door (it seemed to have easily fallen off). Because the dorms wasn't fully booked, I could easily use a different locker. In high season this would probably be more of an issue.

Verified reviewEverything from private rooms, nice staff, laundry on site, pool with bar! Especially loved the location
Pool opens late and you’re not allowed to use it after checking out which is a bit disappointing as most other places allow you to as a courtesy. To open the pool at 10 and have check out at 11 seems unfair.

We did not bring our own locks, which are necessary for the locker in the room.

Verified reviewWe only stayed here for one night but we loved the whole vibe of the place. It has a pool, which is where everyone hangs out by the day. We were getting up at 4am to catch a bus, so we had to be in bed early. We both commented on how quiet the place was and had no trouble sleeping. The place is super clean and the staff are always on hand to help with anything. One of the best hostels we’ve stayed in.
