The grounds are beautiful. The staff is attentive and helpful. We loved all the cozy spots to sit and enjoy. There is so much to do- restaurant, pool, kayaks, hammocks, comfy couches and stools by the water. They offer curtesy boat rides to and from Flores Island.

It needs a few repairs, but the overall welcoming feel and greenery of the property overshadows that. No complaints.

Fantastic location. Very nice staff. Clean, stylish room. Good communication. Good service at restaurant.

Property is a bit shabby in places, but our room was great.

Spacious outdoor area , quiet . Very friendly and helpful staff : waiters , receptionists , boatmen

Needs quite a lot of maintenance work to reach a good standard . Outside area seemed neglected: construction debris , loungers were in poor state , pool wasn’t in good condition . Room needed repainting ,

This is about out booking at Las Luciernas aka now Fireflies hotel. The room we got looks absolutely Nothing like the photos.  It is very dingy ,  has scratched furniture, has polyester sheets which are very scratchy , is small in size and the shower has mold and is not clean. The glasses were unclean. It was not disclosed at  time of payment where the receptionist took the full amount. After I complained, she offered free breakfast for 2 days which is a very poor compensation. She said the actual room is under renovation and may be ready by Tuesday but there is no guarantee. While we did switched to the newer room the next day, the shower there only had very hot water which led to us getting scalded. We complained, but they could not get it right. The bathroom had a horrible sewage smell after use which was absolutely disgusting. While all these issues were reported to the receptionist, she was unable to resolve it. Also at night, we had the property dog bark at us and we had to call for help. I was very worried about being bitten. There is nobody there at night in case of an emergency. The pool looks like it has been out of order for a long time. I complained to booking.com and they gave me a number. I contacted the number but they said they were thr owners friend and would pass my message to them. I never got a response. Overall, avoid this hotel . The pictures are not true. I waz traveling with my parents who are seniors and it is horribly inconvenient for us to change rooms, but we will take that option despite being out all day . We had a long journey, and are exhausted! This is too disappointing.

Amazing staff - very accomodating. The boat service to get around was really convenient too and we used the free kayaks. Great cocktails with a beautiful view.

The restaurant could be improved but there are plenty of other options accesible by boat.

Nice place to relax and very friendly staff and people working there. Food was also good, but limited in options and on higherly priced.

For my last stay I wanted to treat myself with a bit more luxery. I found this place and was directly excited. The stay was oke, but I expected more. There is improvement to me made. I asked for a shuttle to the hotel for when I arrived at the airport, but once I got there no one was there. However, after making a call they arranged a transfer very quickly. The room is nice, the big window is amazing, but the shower was boiling hot, and I had very little cold water available in the room. Another downside is that the hotel is only reachable by boat, so you will be limited in your freedom. If you prefer to be able to be spontaneous and free I won’t recommend staying here. The boat goes once an hour, but between 7 and 22 they will do their best to go as much as possible. Only after these hours you will have to pay 150 local money, which is very expensive in my opinion for a boatride of 5 minutes. I reserved one at 4am to go on a tour, but they showed up too late for which I lost my tour that day. This was a big downside and something to take in account. However, the owner is a very kind and helpful men and will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Without asking they payed for the new tour I had to book and made sure the next morning the boat will go. They also treated me on a drink and dinner for the inconvenience. If you just want to relax this place is very nice, but if you want a bit more freedom I would not recommend it. For the price I had to pay I was disappointment and expected much more. The things that happend can happen and I don’t mind that much, but for a lower price would have been more fair. I stayed in better places that were much cheaper. The kayak was free to use which was nice. If they improve some things this place has good potential. Be aware there is construction happening on the site and it can be a bit noisy, but nothing to disturbing.

The boat ride to this property from was always short and lovely. Transfer available every hour. Relaxing on the lounge chairs on the floating dock was on of our favorite ways to relax.

Friendly staff. Location: easy to get to the island of Flores by boat shuttle

Hotel grounds and rooms require investment and better maintenance. We had a terrible smell in our room due to poor canalisation. It ruined our stay. Also the air condition blows straight into your face and this is very uncomfortable. The windows had no fly screen and thus could not be opened without getting the insects in. On the balcony we had a wasp nest! After heavy rain our room was invaded by ants. The so called infinity pool is a very small pool and was not very inviting. The beach area was not taken care off. Not enough sun loungers and on top some were broken. The selection of food was very limited and for 4 days the same dishes were not available, the hotel did not stock up on fresh fruit and calamari . By no means this is a boutique hotel, rather a 2 star hostel.

Kind, helpful staff. The arranged tour to Tikal for us. Location is beautiful and quiet. Easy to get back and to forth to Flores. Rooms are clean.

The room smelled musty and the bathroom smelled of sewage. Staff attempted to remedy the situation.

Lovely, quiet, sophisticated spot on the edge of the lake. Can walk to the mirador of Flores in ten minutes or get to the island by boat. The hotel is very clean, chic, and stylish. Can swim in the lake and use the onsite restaurant or pool facilities.

Having to get the boat is the only barrier to getting around. It leaves the hotel on the hour, and you need to let staff know you'll be taking it. When in Flores, you need signal to communicate with the staff to request pick up by boat. But all pick ups are free and the drivers so kind and friendly. They will where a white t shirt with the hotel name/logo on

Highlight was definitely the location on the lake which was truly a unique pleasure. The restaurant was simple but good. The rooms were well sized and comfortable. Nice staff.

No gym. The pool was freezing and underwhelming.

Staff were very nice, unusual location.

The bathroom and sleeping was open plan so the shower and bath were in the same room as the bed. As I was sharing with my daughter this didn’t give us any privacy when we wanted to take a shower, we took turns leaving the room.

The lake was beautiful. The hotel had a lot of activity options. We took out the kayaks to cruise the lake, rested on the hammocks and swam in the lake. We loved the sunset and the food was great!

The front area still needs to be finished. The hotel is still being remodeled. It will be even better when the work is done.
