Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was this weird noise coming from outside - a constant slow revolving sound. It went on all night and was more baffling than annoying. It didn't keep me awake but I would love to know what it was. A factory perhaps. There was no bottled water for sale, but as we learned it is perfectly safe to drink from the filtered water they provide in a vat, so we drank that instead. As new arrivals in Guatemala we really could have done with a sign to tell us that you put toilet paper in the bin, not in the toilet. This is standard across the whole country, but no-one tells you this, it seems you just have to know.
We chose this hotel because it was near Guatemala city airport - and indeed it was - just 8 minutes walk from the airport. We did feel a bit uneasy walking in the dark streets at night, so you might want to take a taxi, but it was fine and nothing happened. I expected there to be many hotels in the area, but it was mainly residential and businesses which were closed at night. The twin room was fine , although I could see other rooms in the hotel were larger. Reception was helpful and friendly. She didn't speak much English, but frankly that is my fault for not making more effort to learn Spanish. The included breakfast was nice - standard Guatemalan fare of Black bean sauce, scrambled eggs, fruit and pancakes - like most breakfasts I had in the this. I have a big appetite so not enough to feed me, but you can buy extra There's also a walled Garden out back - I doubt people often visit it, but we had some time to kill waiting to be picked up so I liked walking round that. this was the start of a fantastic 10 day holiday in Guatemala.

United StatesNothing really---f.y.i., you need to put the left handle all the way up to the left (in the room I stayed) and wait for a while, 3~5 minutes to get hot water for the shower. Then you need to adjust precisely with the right handle to get the correct temperature.
It's about 10 minutes walk to the Aurora Airport. I loved the small garden they had, it was well maintained and I enjoyed strolling. The room was charming and clean, it would be perfect if I had a desk or small stool. I stayed only one night before the departure from the airport, I wish there was a hotel like this in the central area so I could stay longer.

CanadaI did not get breakfast. I went to the breakfast room, the server came in 3 times served another table but did not serve me. So after waiting 20 minutes I decided it would be faster to got to the airport even earlier and get something there. It’s too bad because the food looked delicious

Dominican RepublicAlthough they advertise that there is a an airport shuttle available, this is clearly NOT stated that it is only from 11pm to 6am and the rest of the time it is actually just an Uber option for which the guest has to pay for. You have to dig deeper into the hotel page to see that it says that the shuttle "is an additional cost". Adding an additional US$15 to the rate of the room, it would have been better to stay somewhere more economical.
The place is nice and clean, the staff was attentive and answered my questions and also responded via the booking website.

AustraliaThere was a bit of noise at night from the windows in the room leading to a common area, where there were some people or some other guests drinking until late. Luckily we had earplugs to sleep.

AustraliaNoise travels through & under the room doors so you can hear everything in your room. When we booked into our room we weren’t told we’d need to switch rooms for the second night. We returned from a day trip to find our first room being cleaned “around” all of our stuff.
The property is clean, well located & has nice spaces inside & out to relax. Some lovely birdlife in the garden too.

BelizeThat I was unaware they had a restaurant that offers lunch and dinner. The booking only mentions breakfast, and the staff failed to inform me that they offered other meals.
I liked that I was allowed to have a virtual meeting on their premises even after checkout at 11.
