Great location, right near the central plaza and a friendly owner/manager with lots of advice. Quiet rooms, and comfortable beds with clean bathrooms and a pleasant rooftop terrace.

The facilities are a little old, but everything works fine.

Terrace is lovely, hot water and super clean toilets. The owner and his little daughter were super nice. He provided all info on possible hikes to do on your own around Xela and how to get there, which was very useful.

I had a room with an inside window, which was fine for a few days but perhaps a bit uncomfortable if you're planning to stay longer periods. There are other rooms available anyway.

The ONLY think about this run down house (it is not a hotel, so don’t be fooled!!) is its location. It’s 10-15 minutes from the town center!!

This place is a run down house within an unappealing area! It is dirty, and all the amenities (rooms, common showers, common area) are extremely basic and below standards. Very uncomfortable beds in a dingy rooms! One toilet paper roll shared by two separated bathrooms next to each other! Posted house rules are all over throughout this place like it is a correction facility for criminals!! On top of all, the person who lives and manage the place is extremely unwelcoming and extremely unfriendly and rude!! I had reservation (via Booking.com). Upon my arrival this guys suggested I cancel my reservation so he could give me a better rate and I have to pay him in cash! Hesitantly I accept. After staying one night and gone through the horrible experience, I brought up my concern to the staff the next morning, but instead he bluntly told me if I’m not happy I should “get out”!!! I realized then that the reason he offered me to cancel my reservation so he could get me a better rate is that he does not want unsatisfied guests to provide a negative review on this place. There are plenty of very decent with good value for your money in city center in Booking.com. Do not go to this place otherwise you will be very sorry!!

It was clean and Roberto was very helpful. The kitchen was equipped well, and the bed was comfortable. I did have an inside room without an exterior window but that didn’t bother me at all as I only slept in there and it eyes were closed.

Walls are thin so you can hear others in the building - other guests were quiet and respectful so wasn’t a big problem

Great location, clean, good value for money. I especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace where the kitchen is located. I was able to do my yoga there. Also I found the bed very comfortable and the sheets were very fresh and soft.

My room was a bit small, it was ok for one person but I wouldn't recommend it for two people.

Finally a place where it was quiet at night, no dogs, traffic sounds, or other guests making loud noises. Only the fireworks for Christmas, but that was actually a nice show visible from the rooftop terrace. Good beds and facilities to prepare your own meals.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and centrally located, and owners were very friendly and helpful. There's a functional rooftop kitchen with a view. Hot water is available, and extra blankets are provided.

Location, it is close to town centre, you can find everything within 50 meters, nice and cheap breakfast, barber, small convience store and witin 100 meters another one open 24/7. Quiet street so Uber or tour operators can park or pick you up easy. Walking distance to central park with many optios to eat or drink. I felt very safe in Xela. Hotel did my laundry just for 40 QTZ.

Great location, 2 blocks from the main square, on a quiet street. Showers had hot water. Sophia ,the owner s daughter, is adorable. Nice terrace overlooking the city. There is also a kitchen up there, but I never used it. Robert was a very considerate host; he apologised when his other guests woke everyone at 4 am (going on a volcano hike) or when they were talking for hours late at night on their phones, he politely asked them to finish their calls.

Double room was small for 2, but OK for one. Towels need replacing.

Economic

This is the best place I have stayed in my travels! Cheap simple rooms - with lots of blankets. The owner is super friendly and respectful and advised me on directions. The kitchen area is well equipped and is on the terrace which has a beautiful view. I felt so happy to be there in the mornings! The bathrooms were super clean. Soap and towels were provided. Quiet and no disturbance - this is the place for some privacy and rest. Xela is a beautiful spot and this is the hotel to stay at.

Terrace with great view and full kitchen. Friendly family keeps the hotel very clean and location is just a few blocks to cathedral and plaza.

I liked the fact that I had a private room for the price of what would normally be a shared room. I didn't see any other clients my entire time at the hotel, so even my shared bathroom felt private.

The bed was super hard, almost as hard as the floor. I didn't sleep well due to the bed. My room also had no window to the outside. My windows went to the hallway. One of my windows didn't close all the way, so I could hear people in the hallway clearly. The curtains didn't block out the light, so when the hallway light was on, it was still very light in my room.

Great location. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely staff. Fab room. Great prices. Free drinking water. Clean.

I got a single room, which was great, the bed was comfortable, shower water is hot and the balcony has nice view. The owner was very helpful and friendly. I could leave my bags for a while after check out.
