How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Fantastic location, 300m from Guatemala airport. We stayed one night, the rooms were very clean and the beds can ACTUALLY FIT SOMEONE OVER 6FT!! The breakfast in the morning was also great. Really enjoyed it. The receptionist was so kind and helpful. Perfect stop over location before going to Antigua the next day.

Within short walking distance from airport (left from the airport, short right to the roundabout (rotunda in Spanish), left at the rotunda, and shortly afterwards at about the next intersection) there was a manned, iron gate where they took my passport info (at about midnight) and then let me through. It was two blocks down the road on the left). The place was very basic, but that's all I needed - a bed, internet, and shower (no insects and breakfast were a plus). Minimal English but the hosts were very helpful. I enjoyed going to the Mercado Artesanias La Aurora the next day, within walking distance (past the airport, prior to the zoo) where they had lots of little shops selling touristy kind of stuff.

I wish the staff wouldn't turn on the lights in the room every time someone arrived in the middle of the night. They were quiet but that did wake me up every time. So make sure to bring a sleeping mask and maybe earplugs.
Only a 5min walk from the airport and I felt safe walking to the hostel and back to the airport as a solo female traveler. The staff was really nice and the room was very clean and warm. The bathroom inside was also very clean, the water didn't get too warm but it was okay since it was so warm anyways. The bed was very comfortable! There was breakfast included but I had to leave very early.

Airplane noise.
Short walk from the airport (5 minutes) very safe (we went at midnight and left at 4 am), good for a short layover, no need to worry about transportation.

Just stayed one night before the airport. Free transport to the airport the next day was very good :) staff very very friendly! The breakfast was very nice. Would deffo stay again

The shuttle service is included, but is only free up to a certain time. Then, it is cheaper to walk than to take a taxi.
Very convenient place to spend the night, less than 5 minutes walk from the airport, in a very safe area. The service is good, and the quality-price ratio is even better!

The bedside light didn't work although the socket did.
Great location within safe walking distance of the airport. I stayed here twice coming to ans from the airport. It's perfect to just sleep here and then move on again. I used the shuttle service twice when I had luggage and this was courteous and efficient. Good communication even though my Spanish is terrible and they had little English. The breakfast was good. Decent unlimited coffee, eggs and beans, bread and a biscuit.

Convenient location right near the airport. Lovely staff including drop off to the airport. Single beds not bunks is nice. Wifi is consistent and reaches the dorm.

The credit card terminal did not work which was upsetting timing last cash before leaving (10% surcharge - pretty typical of Guatemala though). When I left for the airport in the middle of the night the front door was locked and I had to knock on doors to find someone to let me out.
Great location walking distance to the airport. Comfortable bed, balcony space, water available

Breakfast only at seven. No restaurants, you have to order Uber Eats.
The owner is a really nice person. Its clean and the beds are comfortable. They drove me to the airport in the morning. Its too dangerous to walk.

Very hospitable staff. The owner gave us a free lift to the airport. Clean and comfortable rooms right next to the airport in a safe, gated community. Basic breakfast included. Great value for money. Would stay again.

Clean, attractively decorated, safe place near the airport. Big towels. Good breakfast It was the second time I had stayed there coordinating with flights everybody was super friendly comment, and it was quiet. I appreciated that the stuff was waiting and open the door when I arrived at 1 AM.

The place is not close to city center (good for the airport). Also it is a Colonia cerrada with security while it is good the security people rejected Uber driver 3 times , as they were confused on the directions

The hostal is in a gated community, which is a little disconcerting if you're not used to it. Breakfast starts at 7 am, so if you need to leave before then you won't get any.
Super close to the airport, lovely people working at and running the place. Very convenient if you have a short stopover in Guatemala City, transport from and to the airport is included which is awesome. Lionel was super helpful and overall people were very kind.
